I have been watching La Liga, Serie A, EPL & EFL, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Portuguese League, South American futbol, MLS & Liga MX, and Internacional Soccer for 20+ years. Most teams especially at club level or national teams like Uruguay, have a personality or style that you can identify them with for the most part (obviously this can change depending on a number of factors.) Villarreal CF have had a more direct approach in recent years compared to the mid 2000s when they had Riquelme and Forlan, but I see very little of their influence on what VIVA try to do and this is prevalent across the age groups. In my opinion, they are just clsssic ABGC/AUFC but now they have yellow jerseys and vacation packages to Castellon. I wonder how much money Fernando Roig makes out of this venture. I could be wrong of course.
A plus post!!!!! I think Fernando lost money and credibility in the process. All clubs in VA have sprinklings of good players who are generally being wasted by the coaching like the one provided by Bo, Carlos, Nick etc. All these so-called coaches want to see is - kids that are big for their age and who can dominated without any real coaching or any kind of tactical approach. Then, all goes to nothing when they are U16-17
