You can move mid season. You just have to quit the team you’re on first, get released and then find another ECNL team.

Not on Mikeys teams, his teams were all visibly upset when they were told at training, almost all in tears. I drove carpool that night and it was not fun

Hate to stir the pot more, but BRYC parents have been meeting with Matt Lacey and Mikey. It has been told that they are going to make 2 VDA teams. New ECNL rule. ECNL 1 and ECNL 2. Helps the recruiting process. No player left behind.

LOL if you think that ECNL 2 team is going to be coached the same way the ECNL 1 team is.
Go back and BRYC Blue team parents how that worked out for them and their kids...

There is no ECNL 2 league for Virginia teams. Only MD teams have ECNL 2

VDA's feeder clubs (PWSI and VSA) top teams play in ECNL Regional league already

Oh please, Mikey coached my Kid for years and we never saw any problems with how tryouts were conducted.

i agree --- Mikey is very clear that he wants the best players, the players who can help the teams he coaches win.
That's what he's interested in, and he makes no bones or no apologies for it.

Then why did he leave? Also if ECNL players can’t leave a club to go to another ECNL club,in middle of the year, why is it ok for coaches? VDA should be fined for recruiting a coach.

Isn’t MC the president of US Club soccer which is the parent of ECNL? Maybe you should call the President of US club soccer and demand that he fine himself for poaching a coach....

Not surprising behavior. MC is trying to conquer the soccer universe as his team has won 1 game in 2 years. Will Quan have MW working for him at HP Elite too? Isn’t it mandatory for vda players to attend HP? What about coaches?

If ECNL 2 is the same as regional ECNL there are 11 clubs in Virginia participating in ECNL including PWSI and VSA which both share fields with VDA. Also worth noting with the 03s, they will be combining with the older team’s current juniors. Next year it’s 18/19 together so there are even fewer slots In that age group.

The ECNL regional teams are listed on the ECNL site (link below). If they are different things than I’m just wrong.

They are currently different things. ECNL Regional is simply re-branded VPL
