What would those options be?

Depends on the age. BLC and NextLevel are perfectly fine at a young age. VLC (Crabs affiliate) is also a good option. You could travel further with Crabs, Hawks, Looney's, etc . . . Bottom line is that team quality varies year in and year out depending on the players. Find a good group of boys and stick with them. 5 years from now, opinions may be very different than today. IMO, this day in age, if your son is good enough to play college lax, he'll be noticed. More importantly is that he enjoys the experience and wants to put in the time and effort.

Is Black Wolf still around? Where to they play?

In 2018/2019? BLC and NL didn’t exist? Bethesda is run by dads which is worse.

You think parents should drive 1-2 hrs per practice?

The crabs/Vlc owner is a lunatic.

No your child will not “get noticed” if he is not connected to a great HS team or a great club.

Fact is all the clubs/coaches are asses and you just need to teach your kids your own family values with the limits lax options in the area. Sometime coaches act outside of your values. Been to a HS game lately... every coach is an embarrassment at times.

Looking at the list of schools the players got into from one class, seems like Madlax is the choice for the lacrosse exposure.

My son is on VLC. We never see the owner. My son only interacts with the team coaches, who are great guys.

Guy who runs VLC (both before and after Crabs buyout) is a great guy anyways. On the BLC front, I'm sure there are some not so great parent coaches, but if you get a good one, the experience can be vastly superior. My 2028 daughter has an excellent Bethesda coach and commitment to her players, we couldn't ask for more.

You could say the same about Madlax.

Wouldn't surprise me, although Maddux coaches the 2024 Caps team himself, so they certainly see him.

This is part of the reason I am skeptical of all the ML hate. If Maddux is deranged, OK, but how often does the average ML kid actually interact with him?

On a DMV team?? Never but he has kids on 2024 and others. He cares about the good players. Look what happens when they try to leave.

So you are saying it's ok to give the owner your money and have your kid play for him as long as it's other families that he threatens and not yours.

Yeah, if that's the way you want to think about it. Far as I know, Cabbell had an issue with one kid, once, six years ago. Since then he has coached hundreds of kids (and many other hundreds of kids have gone through MadLax and probably never interacted with him at all). To condemn MadLax and everyone who plays for them (which does not include my son, BTW) on the basis of that one episode is unbalanced and stupid.

Wow. You are either an idiot or incredibly naive. He has threatened many people before, during and after that incident. Email, phone, in-person, etc.
