No, I dont think its her fault. But Sandra had an opportunity to be the better person. And like it or not, she did break the law. She also killed herself, until it is scientifically proven otherwise. Did the cop handle it well, heck no. But being an egomanical cop doesn't mean her killed her either.

Not sure how you stretched to an innocent female getting raped...

Yes, she changed lanes without putting on the turn signal. How often have you done that? When you do that, do you think to yourself, "I am breaking the law!" How about driving faster than the speed limit? Do you think "I am breaking the law!" when you drive faster than the speed limit?

This was covered about 20 pages ago. Can we move on?

Absolutely, I definitely think to myself, "I hope there are no cops around" when I exceed the speed limit, roll through a stop sign, fail to use a signal (which I actually never forget to do, huge pet peeve of mine), etc.

OK, next -- if there were a police officer around when you exceeded the speed limit/rolled through a stop sign/didn't put your turn signal on, and the police officer pulled you over, and you were having a bad day and therefore responded with some attitude, would you think it was reasonable for the police officer to respond to your attitude by pulling you out of your car and threatening you with a Taser, given that, after all, you had broken the law by exceeding the speed limit/rolling through a stop sign/not putting your turn signal on?

Reports now that Sandra Bland was actually dead when the mugshots were taken.

-her shoulder goes straight out as if she is laying down
-her hair falls back instead of down
-the wall in the jail is tan, the floor is grey.
-her eyes look lifeless
-why is she wearing a prison uniform in her mugshot?

Oh, that's disgusting. The worst part of the internet. Please turn your brain on.

Dumb. Her eyes don't look lifeless. I saw a side-by-side comparison with another inmate and he was also in a prison jumpsuit in his mugshot, and doing something like this would cause such a commotion other inmates are almost certain to have noticed.

Attitude is not against the law. And it is a part of a police officer's job to handle attitude appropriately.

Your right and he didn't Sonshe should have. Both are to blame. She was not a child, stop acting like she bears no responsiblity.

Actually I think it would remarkably childish for the police officer to say that Sandra Bland made him do it. Is it her fault that the police officer dragged her out of the car? No, it is not.

Lets say she put the cigarette out.
He was signing the citation while they spoke.
Lets say she said "thank you"when he handed her the citation.

What do YOU think would have happened next?

Let's say she was wearing a maxi dress instead of a mini dress.
Let's say that she had a button-up collar shirt on instead of a low cut V-neck form fitted sweater.
Let's say she was walking home from night school at 2100 hours instead of day school at 1500 hours.

Do you really think it's her fault, and the man made him rape her?

Well then DC is full of lawbreakers right now. I'd bet that less than half of people here don't use their turning signal when making a turn. I'm always careful driving through these po'dunk towns. The cops are bored and usually have nothing better to do than to harass people.

There was a commotion. When the emts were called. How did she hang herself on a 5 foot wall, she's six feet. Also, the news tested a Waller county trash bag. The bag broke. I had guessed that before. Why did they think it made sense to say someone hanged herself with a plastic bag?

She was sitting. Apparently this is not an uncommon way to hang yourself in jail. I didn't know this, but DH did.

And everybody who drives, speeds. Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of lawbreakers in the DC area.

Or the recent case, as in within the past week, where a white guy with a Confederate flag painted on the hood of his car reached for a gun twice during a confrontation with the cops and was not injured in any way.

He was probably polite. Or interacted with more experienced police. The cop in question had a chip on his shoulder, but if she just stopped the attitude...

YOU CALL REACHING FOR A GUN POLITE????

He twice reached for a firearm. http://www.rawstory.com/2015/07/sovereign-citizen-arrested-after-twice-trying-to-grab-one-of-six-loaded-guns-in-his-confederate-flag-car/

He was clearly interacting with more reasonable police. But he had six guns, all loaded, two cocked and ready to fire. And he tried to pull them on the cops. And he is alive.

If I was pulled over and started acting agitated/nervous and refused a simple request to put out a cigarette (knowing that most non-smokers are bothered by smoke blowing in their face), I would not be surprised if the officer asked me to get out of the car. We can't see exactly what she was doing or how she was acting in the car, but I don't think it's unreasonable for the cop to request that she get out of the car if began suspecting that something else might be going on (hiding drugs, etc.). And when I refused and got extremely belligerent and combative, I would not expect him to just say, "okay, never mind, be on your way then."

Then why does the report say she was hanging in a standing position? At some point we need to open our eyes and realize that there are inconsistencies.
