Davos is going to be a disaster

I sat there stunned in disbelief that anyone thinks Trump is smart. Like UPenn should take back his degree. He’s the biggest moron ever.

He definitely can't find more than one, maybe two of the countries he proclaimed to lead toward peace on a map.

We should tell him that if we can he'll get the new Golden Crackerjack Prize that will only be awarded once in a millennia. That should satisfy his dementia addled brain.

I hate that the NATO Secretary-General had to remind the ever-complaining, ever-aggrieved Trump that in Afghanistan, "For every two Americans who paid the ultimate price, one soldier from another NATO country did not come back to his family." American soldiers, who have trained with coalition soldiers from other countries for decades, know that other countries have sacrificed as well. Why doesn't our president know this?

I wonder what all of the MAGAs think about the fact Trump did a TACO at DAVOS, of all places, at the World Economic Forum?

I remember a bunch of you MAGAs nattering on about the need to vote for Trump to fight back against the evil Klaus Schwab and WEF.

And yet there he is, doing the exact opposite.

Maybe you MAGAs aren't as smart as you think you are?

It keeps coming back to these kinds of things.

Trump doesn't hate NATO and Europe because he's right. He hates them because he's a fool.

Yes. The graft of the Trump administration is astonishing. I would love to see the trades made by Trump's inner circle over the last 48 hours. The TACO trade is making these billionaires billions more. And it's emblematic of the complete failure of our political system. The Founding Fathers never envisioned that Americans would choose a deplorable like Trump to be president - twice.

This is what you need to understand about Trump. Trump doesn't know anything about the world.

All he knows is what lies and fabrications are most convenient for him at the current moment. He's a human version of a 2022 chatgpt.

He's a fossil relic of an era where people did not have the internet in their pockets, to fact check and see him lying in realtime. And he's so far gone mentally that he actually thinks he's getting away with his lies and nobody's the wiser. But we all see right through it. That is, except for mindless low-IQ MAGA masses who never fact check anything.

But that's not even the biggest sin here - it's him putting such incredible, disgusting disrespect on brave soldiers who fought, sacrifice and died alongside us. Our brothers-in-arms. Trump spits on their graves.

That can not be forgiven.

And yet, many of his supporters are in the military. I will never understand how they could EVER have supported him after his McCain comments and the suckers and losers comment.

#Paul Krugman

Donald Trump and his team clearly went to Davos determined to demean and insult their hosts. It was, one might say, a novel approach to diplomacy: “You’re pathetic, your societies and economies are falling apart, now give us Greenland.”

And it worked about as well as you’d expect. Trump may have imagined that the Europeans would cower in the face of his wrath. Instead, they humiliated him. He dropped his latest tariff threats in return for a “framework” that gave the United States essentially nothing it didn’t already have — and left behind a Europe that is finally united in resistance to his bullying.

The Trump team went to Europe in a state of malign ignorance, exemplified by Trump saying during his Davos harangue that “without us, you’d all be speaking German.” Most Swiss speak … German.

+1 NATO was only invoked once post 9/11 to support the US attacks on Afghanistan. Only once. I know this and I have nothing to do with foreign policy. Why doesn't Trump?

Because Trump was too busy on 9/11 bragging incorrectly that Trump Tower was now the tallest building in NYC.

Also, vilifying Muslims and lying about them.

Honestly, I feel that he does not, and has never had any intellectual curiosity. All Trump is interested in, is figuring out how to line is pockets. Anything else is just noise.

MAGAs live in a bubble where they only get right wing media news and right wing social media content. It’s mind boggling. X has so many bots/fake accounts spewing BS like Trump won and the Art of the Deal. There is a reason X got rid of the location for accounts. Bc it showed the extent of the problem.

Foreign Affairs: Prime Minister Keir Starmer of Britain joined other leading British politicians in condemning a remark made by President Trump that NATO troops had stayed “a little off the front lines” during the war in Afghanistan. Britain lost 457 soldiers during two decades of fighting there.
