ICE Shooting in Minneapolis

Snowballs, oh no! The protestors will probably get shot at and killed. Because... equivalency. Or something.

So I guess you would have been ok with all of the J6ers being shot and killed that day at that time. Pretty sure they were interfering with the discharge of duties.

That would have been the best thing. They were rioting, attacking police, trying to kill the VP and all elected officials.

+1
Ashli Babbit…(Oh. Well, that’s different)

This is a tragedy.

Correct. I have seen videos from different angles and what some people don't realize yet is that in trying to drive away, the woman actually drove directly at an agent. I can see why she did that in a moment of panic and misjudgement, and most likely would have swerved away as she drove away. But in that fatal second, she was aiming at an agent, and that is when the agent shot his gun.

This is a tragedy and there is blame for both sides. But right now people really need not to get charged at fighting and blocking ICE agents who are doing their lawful job.

Protest ICE peacefully, don't interfere with their actions, stick to court cases and peaceful protests.

Except it's not a lawful job. It's a hateful, racist, violent Gestapo job and anyone who takes it should be deported.

Even if this were true, blocking a road isn't a death sentence.

Correct. However, using car as a weapon--whether intentional or recklessly--is illegal and can justify the use of deadly force.

Someone posted still on threads and the officer was a good two feet from the vehicle and shot into the window when he started firing. How is lethal force justified?

Whether or not use of lethal force was justified/permissible is the issue.

The distance is relevant to the moving vehicle. If the vehicle was moving in reverse away from the ICE agent, then the distance of 2 feet would most likely not justify use of deadly force. But, when moving toward one, deadly force may be justified.

I thought law enforcement were trained not to get in front of moving vehicles/vehicles in drive? Aren’t they supposed to come around from the sides to prevent this, especially because people tend to panic in these situations?

Live shots from Minneapolis show protestors intentionally getting in front of moving vehicles driven by ICE agents.

Ah yes. I’m sure that’s all they’re throwing.

An interesting but irrelevant factoid.

omg. this is America now.

Kent state except people defending it. They didn't in 1970. Then America sat stunned at they watched the news and saw what we had (briefly) become. But now there is too much hate of other Americans. The right defends this. Not even questioning. Not even saying, how awful but I think the officer must have felt his life threatened. Not even a how awful.

Under the most recent US Supreme Court ruling, actions like this may be relevant when evaluating "the totality of the circumstances".

Beyond that, it shows how protesters are trying to aggravate the situation. Not smart.

Just stopping a driver is incredibly dangerous. This is why whenever I'm around an officer of the law I behave like a whipped dog. It's the best way to be safe around them.

I've watched enough police body camera videos to understand both the incredible risk they take in situations we'd all walk away from, and the risk that entails to anyone engaging on the other side as well.

No, ICE doesn't deserve this benefit of the doubt. Other LE agencies, maybe. Not ICE.

What’s good for the goose is good for the gander-there are a lot of peacefully protesting citizens who now can qualify as victims of attempted murder by ICE, with ample video from many angles.

The video shows that the victim was driving in reverse, then suddenly shifted to drive & hit the accelerator.

She was trying to run him over.

She was trying to get out of the way.

She was trying to escape in a clearly reckless manner.

They should be shooting back. Where is the NRA. Isn't this what the NRA warned us about? This sort of tyranny?
