The veracity of Nomani’a work will be tested over time. She is not the issue - even if one thinks her reporting is shoddy. One would certainly like to see, for example, evidence of books and records. If payments were made by FCPS or the social worker (either way) that situation would present a really negative set of facts for the schools. The money trail exists in sone form no matter how Nomani reports it. As regards the alleged whistleblower, time and time again entities retaliate or ignore whistleblowers. No matter the facts, and we don’t have them in full, not resolving whistleblower claims properly is a hallmark of a lack of plans and controls and a sound compliance structure. To be fair, the entire set of facts is yet to be presented but what has been reported so far raises concern. |
Virginia, individuals under the age of 18 seeking an abortion generally require parental consent. However, there is a process called a judicial bypass that allows minors to bypass the parental consent requirement if they are unable or unwilling to involve a parent or guardian.
No clinic disregarded this law none. Go away MAGA cult of stupids |
Can you have just a single conversation without bringing politics into it? No? Not one? That’s what I thought. |
Youngkin announced the Virginia State Police to open a criminal investigation into the allegations |
Thanks for taking the words right out of my mouth. |
So you are saying the child in this specific case obtained a judicial bypass? |
Yes, that is the law in VA. Maryland too. Many states have such a restriction (or even more restrictive--like complete outlawing of abortion.) https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/teens/stds-birth-control-pregnancy/parental-consent-and-notification-laws States that do NOT have parental notification/permission requirements for children seeking abortions include: Alaska California Connecticut Delaware (under age 16 requires at least one parent be informed) DC Hawaii Illinois Maine Massachusetts (under age 16 requires at least one parent be informed) Minnesota Montana (under age 16 requires at least one parent be informed) New Jersey New Mexico New York Oregon South Carolina (requires permission from one parent if you are under 17) Vermont Washington |
If Youngkin is involved, it is obviously just a political operation. He and Miyares are using our schools as their culture war playground. So much money wasted. I hope the Centreville teachers involved are ready for their dirty laundry to be aired. |
The republican party was the party of rape and molestation long before Trump came along.
The right wing have been screaming about abortion for fifty years but killing and abusing children post birth has never been a problem. This investigation is MAGA propaganda |
I'm getting protect the Party at all costs vibes here.
Interview the parties involved, follow the money, determine if a crime was committed, if so prosecute, if not clear the names of the accused. A good lesson for FCPS students, do the right thing. |
A sane response 😀. There obviously were some shenanigans going on - and FCPS coverups are par for the course, but to make this issue a partisan one is simply stupid! |
Republicans have forced their politics into everything, especially schools. Go tell them to F off. |
+1 |
I’m as willing to hold them as accountable as the Republicans do for their own. Pre Trump I’d say investigate & prosecute if they find anything, but if laws no longer matter for Republicans why do we need to hold anyone else accountable? |
There’s a criminal investigation and now underway and don’t be surprised if it leads to indictments. |
