I've been following her journalism for years, and she is highly credible. I appreciate her willingness to expose the truth.

I am pro-choice, but am horrified by this story. I am glad the teacher was persistent. It shows cultural/political/ideological supremacy thinking-the social worker assumed she was superior to the child's guardian when it came to dealing with the situation at hand. It's elitist and disrespectful to the family.

You just lost all credibility yourself.

She’s a MAGA shill who uses our schools to push her political agenda.

DP. And you're likely a School Board shill who'll defend misdeed after misdeed within FCPS because it gets you named to random, meaningless advisory committees.

LOL. What a stupid comment. Are you five?

I’m not paid by FCPS and I’m not on any committees.

I simply hate POS lying MAGAs who are relentlessly hurting our schools and our kids.

Your last paragraph gives away what a tool you are. Give yourself a cookie and then go away and let the adults investigate.

No, I will call out their bullshit each and every time.

The veracity of Nomani’a work will be tested over time. She is not the issue - even if one thinks her reporting is shoddy.

One would certainly like to see, for example, evidence of books and records. If payments were made by FCPS or the social worker (either way) that situation would present a really negative set of facts for the schools. The money trail exists in sone form no matter how Nomani reports it.

As regards the alleged whistleblower, time and time again entities retaliate or ignore whistleblowers. No matter the facts, and we don’t have them in full, not resolving whistleblower claims properly is a hallmark of a lack of plans and controls and a sound compliance structure. To be fair, the entire set of facts is yet to be presented but what has been reported so far raises concern.

Virginia, individuals under the age of 18 seeking an abortion generally require parental consent. However, there is a process called a judicial bypass that allows minors to bypass the parental consent requirement if they are unable or unwilling to involve a parent or guardian.

No clinic disregarded this law none.

Go away MAGA cult of stupids

Can you have just a single conversation without bringing politics into it? No? Not one? That’s what I thought.

So you are saying the child in this specific case obtained a judicial bypass?

But how did a 17 year old get an abortion, when the law is that you have to be 18 or have a parent/guardian notified? Does the clinic not confirm age? Did this social worker lie and say she was the parent/guardian of the child?

Is that the law in VA?

Such a backwards state in so many ways.

Yes, that is the law in VA. Maryland too. Many states have such a restriction (or even more restrictive--like complete outlawing of abortion.)
https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/teens/stds-birth-control-pregnancy/parental-consent-and-notification-laws

States that do NOT have parental notification/permission requirements for children seeking abortions include:
Alaska
California
Connecticut
Delaware (under age 16 requires at least one parent be informed)
DC
Hawaii
Illinois
Maine
Massachusetts (under age 16 requires at least one parent be informed)
Minnesota
Montana (under age 16 requires at least one parent be informed)
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Oregon
South Carolina (requires permission from one parent if you are under 17)
Vermont
Washington

If Youngkin is involved, it is obviously just a political operation. He and Miyares are using our schools as their culture war playground. So much money wasted.
I hope the Centreville teachers involved are ready for their dirty laundry to be aired.

The republican party was the party of rape and molestation long before Trump came along.
The right wing have been screaming about abortion for fifty years but killing and abusing children post birth has never been a problem.

This investigation is MAGA propaganda

I'm getting protect the Party at all costs vibes here.

Interview the parties involved, follow the money, determine if a crime was committed, if so prosecute, if not clear the names of the accused.

A good lesson for FCPS students, do the right thing.

A sane response 😀. There obviously were some shenanigans going on - and FCPS coverups are par for the course, but to make this issue a partisan one is simply stupid!

I’m as willing to hold them as accountable as the Republicans do for their own.

Pre Trump I’d say investigate & prosecute if they find anything, but if laws no longer matter for Republicans why do we need to hold anyone else accountable?

Oh please not that poster but I’m chiming in.

Youngkin got elected because of MAGA lies .

This is that all over again.

MAGA can not even do math and they think they should be in control of public schools??? Their boy criminal in office is stealing the country blind and they are ok with it for what owning the libs?? It takes five minutes to prove the lies. But they are lazy always have been. The dollar is failing, unemployment is rising and Dons personal worth is growing while you lose all rights especially your daughters!

Drag queens another maga fear. What morons , every day in the us country a church leader , youth pastor or GOP yes just this week Robert Mays of SC arrested child sexual abuse child porn is a favorite of the GOP. Not one instance of Drag Queens.

Now let’s talk about sex ed maga no sex ed in schools to prevent pregnancy. Yep feeding children and vaccinations are not ok by maga standards.

You are not pro life you are pro death.

This case is a nothing burger.
MYOB this is a private matter not MAGA if you don’t like public school put your kid in a religious private . If you want your kid not having an abortion keep them out of church and away from white Christian men.

There is a reason the US is going to become a hell hole it’s all MAGA ‘s fault cult of stupidity.

What are you going on about? If an FCPS employee facilitated a minor's abortion in violation of state law, that's a problem. And if FCPS lied about when it became aware of such an incident, that's a problem as well. Anyone versed in criminal law knows that the cover-up often leads to worse penalties than the original crime.

BS that is not what happened.

There is no criminal law involved here.

No abortion facilities are doing abortions illegally in the state of VA

This is MAGA crap just like Loudoun County lies upon lies utter BS

There’s a criminal investigation and now underway and don’t be surprised if it leads to indictments.
