I think everyone in DC should have a gun. We can be the Wild West of the east. |
Hello hyperbole. No, I don't think anyone should have sought out and "opened up" on anyone. We certainly did not. However, we woke up to broken glass and trashed stores very near our home. I was so very glad we had a legal, registered weapon and trained owner (spouse) to protect our home/selves, and on behalf of the storeowners and residents who pay higher prices for merchandise later on, I wish the city would have offered stores far more formal protection. |
Downtown and major shopping cooridors were TRASHED during these protests. Cars were rocked and harrassed. They were not fully peaceful by any means. Some folks may have peacefully protested by day; at night much turned violent and the rampant looting had nothing to do with peaceful protest/equal rights. |
No doubt about it. 100%. |
So there were peaceful BLM protestors. AND there were people who were causing trouble. Got it. |
So are we adopting Swiss laws around guns? Is that what the 2A nutters are gunning for? |
That’s pretty much exactly what I thought you’d say, so at least my read on you was correct. Was still hoping you’d surprise me with a moment of honesty and just say “I just wanted them shot just because they were Trump supporters”. That kind of honesty would be refreshing. It’s ok though. I know what you meant. |
If you have steak knives in your kitchen…. you’re a knife nut. |
You don’t see a difference between what happened on 1/6 and the BLM protests? They were *inside* the Capitol. Where the VP and Congress were certifying the presidential election. Seriously? |
Nope. Just want someone to explain how it’s possible to have millions of machineguns in people’s homes, yet not have the kind of crime and murders we see here. How is that possible? Guns CAUSE crime - that’s the implication we see here all the time - so how is it possible to have millions of the MOST lethal type of guns in Swiss homes, and not have Zurich looking like the scene of a massacre every day. If the presence of guns CAUSES crime, how do you explain the lack of crime? How? |
We allow easy access to people who shouldn’t have guns. Why don’t you want the Swiss gun laws? Aren’t they less “draconian” than ours? |
I was at both places (working). Both were examples of angry people, wanting to be heard, getting out of control and having a tantrum over it. If you actually believe that a couple thousand unarmed people were going to literally take over the US government, then I guess it’s pointless to have any further discussion, because we can’t even agree on a baseline premise. I’m saying 2+3=5 and you’re saying 2+3=magenta. But just be honest and admit you’d want them shot because they were pro-Trump. I could at least respect that. |
You’re being deliberately evasive and not answering the question. |
I did answer. Because we allow easy access to people who shouldn’t have guns. You still haven’t answered. Why don’t you want the Swiss gun laws? Aren’t they less “draconian” than ours? |
I didn’t think they be successful but they were certainly hoping to stop the certification. Some were looking to hurt Pence. It wasn’t a protest. It was a “show of force”. |
