Italians are used to their government being brutal while they prescribe a life of dolce vita. They are more rigid in thinking having the church at the head of their government and used to deception to make things work out best for them.

I’m doing some political work in a north east city on municipal issues and this phenomenon is reflected not only in maga vs non-maga at the federal level but also intraparty in municipal issues

- Italian Irish, eastern euros are more anti congestion pricing than DAR Americans.

- the ethnic whites are more anti bike lane and road diets

- the ethnic whites are more nimby

- the ethnic whites are more “anti-abundance”

I must say when I mean ethnic whites, I specifically mean gentile ethnics. Jewish Americans are much more evidence-based.

The political coalitions on the material conditions of a city are very interesting - ethnic whites + old black people…a powerful force that loves to look backwards, is scared for the future.
