GDS admissions

And no, no one is talking about enforcing existing parking restrictions against GDS and no one else.

Everyone should keep their promises and obey traffic laws.

I bet every first grader at GDS can tell you this isn’t that difficult.

You are a total idiot. People dropping on WI Ave ARE following DC law. They are permitted by law to park or drop in many locations on WI Ave near GDS. It is the bozos at the ANC who want parents not to use PUBLIC streets that are everyone's! There is no GDS exception to the right to drive down WI Ave.

Where exactly is anyone allowed to park on the west side of Wisc between 7:30 and 9 am near GDS?

Your anger and name calling are misdirected. Look within people. Lots of highly educated and successful GDS people pointing the finger at others for their own wrong doing. Just own up to the mistakes and make it right. You are setting a terrible example for your children.

The fact is that the school missed reporting 1 year (not 2 or even 3). The fact is that the school did own up to their mistake. Who is writing this stuff? Are you even paying attention?

You are not paying attention. What year are you alleging was the only one missed? HOW did GDS own up to their MISTAKES (yes, that is plural)? You are delusional and the prime example of privilege. It is showing.

I live in a world where when people discover they made a mistake and share that mistake with the public with multiple apologies when they learn of it, that means "owning up to their mistakes." It's the ANC that is delusional to think that they are owed anything else.

They want GDS to forfeit $4 million

They said tons and tons of cockamamie stuff. Wasn’t a good look nor strategy, if it was an attempt at that.

Just read the street signs and enter signs. They tell all what hours that lane is open for parking.

Agreed. There are a lot of places incl on the east aide of WI where cars are permitted to park or stop during rush hour.

This shows how truly out of touch and clueless this ANC is. They are total idiots on so many levels it is hard to know where to start. Their assertions about violations is patently absurd. It is the government's burden to show a violation. But there is no violation kf anything on WI Avenue or east of that. It is a house of cards. As many others have said here, they have overreached in the most absurd and unlawful of ways.

By the way, Jon is indee on here as are other ANC members. They are government officials in hiding, which just demonstrates how truly juvenile they are.

I am curious why the ANCs can dictate school enrollment if it is separate from building code/ capacity. Are there any other businesses for which this is the case?

It’s in the zoning order. Have you read it?

In the morning, no parking on the west side. In the evening, no parking on the east. Park on the east side in the morning and walk across the street. This is not hard to understand.

You have it backwards. You also are wrong. It is not .the case that all stopping and parking is prohibited Jon. You need to actually go up and down WI Ave and you will see many places where people can park during rush hour.

Do your homework, another school lesson. Really not good to be asserting violations when you do not have basic facts in order.

Are other businesses asked to hold capacity below a building occupancy limit?

In reading Jonathan Bender’s publicly facing candidate bio for one of his ANC elections, he says his kid attends Jackson Read / fka Wilson.

Last I checked, the JR issues are exponentially bigger than the GDS ones. Let’s name a couple

-JR kids attacking Sidwell kids on public property after a hoops game just a few weeks ago. Injuries sustained.

-JR kids routinely being disruptive at lunch time to local restaurants. Small business owners of those restaurants forced to close doors at lunchtime

-JR kids jumping on top of cars stopped at traffic lights on Wisconsin after school let’s out. A small group but nonetheless an issue

-or the multitude of high school kids who smoke weed in Fort Reno late afternoons. Not all JR of course.

I bet if Bender actually was doing his job and stopped with his maniacal focus on GDS alone, he would actually see the school his own kids attend is causing far more issues for the community than GDS is.

Not to mention the rampant crime in Tenley. The broken windows, the aggressive panhandlers, the lack of safety in the metro station even in daylight hours.

Instead this guy soils himself and the ANC and the entire community with this clown show focused on GDS.

Examine yourself, Jon. We get you are jealous of GDS or something like that - that’s clearly the root cause of all this tension. Don’t soil the entire ANC and the community because you have some latent issues about private schools. Or at least take a look at all of the other far more serious issues in Tenley. Go talk to the actual tax paying business owners. Not a single one has issues with GDS or GDS kids. Zero.

And just 5 of your residents have complained about GDS in the last year. I’m sure you were one of them.

To the poster trying to justify disrupting traffic by claiming the problem is a personal vendetta on the part of one or more ANC members: You are doing GDS no favors.

The over the top attacks on the ANC and individual commissioners are not a good look.

Didn’t this thread cover whataboutism awhile back?

GDS is dedicated to providing a supportive educational atmosphere in which teachers challenge the intellectual, creative, and physical abilities of our students and foster strength of character and concern for others.

Lol what a lie.
