The blonde coach at BI is even less professional and more condescending. |
She is terrible. Was awful when she coached Capital, has been awful at BI. No one can understand why anyone lets her anywhere near a girls lax team anymore. |
The legacy of BI was destroyed by COVID another, casualty of the pandemic
I’ve been shocked it hasn’t come up before now. Suggested it needed its own string months ago. Testament to the families who passed through the program. Always keeping it above board. The most talented team going into 2020 was denied, what followed was absolute destruction and anyone paying attention could see it. |
Once Rick stopped running his fledglings program to recruit it was over. There was still talent there but he started to check out the year his son was graduating and the decline has been steep ever since. He built something that was undeniably a nationally ranked team that could play with anyone in the country but those days are gone. |
Coach Rick had a great run and always funny to me how his teams would beat up on SSAS. For a period of time, SSAS was only the second best team in Alexandria. |
Yes the few seniors left on the team today were the last to be his recruits and last to come to BI to continue the culture that Rick started.
It's too bad the new coaches came, given keys to the castle and had absolutely zero affinity for what had been started. It was torn down within a season. Rick was the program and the new regime had zero respect for continuing it even though the girls who are seniors today were part of that culture. Hence the amazing amount of seniors who just simply quit playing all together this season. Actions and body of work speak so loudly. |
This is how good of a coach Rick was: from 2014 to 2017 SSSAS went 110-6 beating some of the best teams in the country. 3 of their 6 losses were to BI in State Final games. Rick absolutely was occupying space in the heads of the Saints !! |
Exactly, the Saints were a top 5 team nationally but only 2nd in Alexandria. |
why would SR have varsity girls play JV? that makes no sense. They are loaded with talent regardless. My daughter's team played them and they were beaten by at least 15. Are you saying the varsity girls play? I doubt that is the truth. |
Everything said about BI is true, except that the juniors on the team were Ricks as well. They’re a 4 who played for and started as freshman for Rick. They are all D1 committed and really good. Most teams would die to have 7 D1 committed juniors and seniors. The coaching is just not helping them in any way. |
The Saints are second in Alexandria this year. Cream puff schedule vs BI tough schedule. |
That’s too bad about BI, definitely were great and had some epic battles against SSSAS! If only they made the second half adjustment sooner on defense then they would have had a great chance against SSSAS in the final in 2019! Those were two great teams to watch. |
It’s true. SR varsity didn’t play that day, just JV, so they played quite a few to beat (and barely, the SSSAS team). 7-5. |
I heard they played at least 4 of their D1 commits in the JV game. |
they beat SSAS by a lot more than 2. Was not close. |
