WCAC
The coaches nominated players by position, talk about the player. Then the coaches vote. |
I’ll add to that coaches of the teams get to nominate a certain amount of players based on their standings. |
^ that went away |
I am on staff at a wcac and it did not go away |
You are on staff and are on this site! Loser! Do you use it as motivation in your locker room? |
Go ahead keep it up if you have a son that comes looking for a home I’m sure your lax dad attitude will show up and that will be the reason he doesn’t get into the wcac school he wants in |
I’m On the boys side you tool and I have a daughter who plays as well but is a couple years out. |
All Met came out today, any names that surprised people that did or didn't make it? |
PVI posted on Twitter that their coach won All American COTY for the Potomac Chapter. Same coach won All Met COTY.
Anyone find it odd he didn’t win COTY of PVI’s conference (WCAC) when he was voted COTY for all of DMV by both the Washington Post and USA Lacrosse? |
USA lacrosse and Wash Post took into account that PVI won the Virginia state title (VISAA). |
I’m willing to bet the players had a lot to do with it. They have been called “the dad coaches” for a few years with good reason. I’ve seen quite a few games against them until my kid graduated. |
It is strange because PVI beat SJC (whose coach won COY) and went on to the WCAC finals. It was the first time PVI appeared in a title game since 2005. That’s a pretty big accomplishment even without the VISAA win. |
Maybe. Why do the coaches of teams winning conferences, states, etc seem to always win COTY? What about coaches that get teams to play beyond their talent level or greatly improve from day one to conference play? For example, the acting HC for Potomac did a wonderful job. |
Agree. This was the also case with PVI in WCAC per the PP. SJC had many D1 commits and expectations were high this year. Many DCUM posters said they underperformed. OTOH PVI punched above their weight and did something the program hadn’t done for nearly 20 years but the coach didn’t get the COY. Maybe another way to ask it: what was remarkable about SJC’s season that made the WCAC decide to sway the COY decision their way? |
If anything, SJC didn't meet expectations because they didn't make the championship game. More talented than PVI but not as well coached as PVI. GC is always expected to be #1 and even though the started 3 frosh and 5 sophomores somehow that doesn't matter because it's expected. IMO it should have been PVI coach and if not him GC coach. SJC underperformed with their talent in the end. |
