APS Outdoor Lunch Needs to Be Optional

Do you want school to stay open or not?

Any empirical evidence that lunch leads to spread? No - plenty of schools don't have outdoor lunch and are doing fine.

This outdoor lunch push is just to placate the few nutters who are not eating inside restaurants (who don't seem to think vaccines work and/or think COVID will be eradicated).

We're purposefully going to be inviting APS families to do group family dinners at restaurants in January and February.

Yes! I will go!

Do you not realize that the vast majority of people in the US and APS families are eating inside restaurants every weekend? Having indoor playdates? Returning to normal?

It's like the poster here is part of a religious cult, and doesn't realize that other people don't do their crazy rituals (no indoor restaurants, only wearing "better masks", nightly prayers to the new COVIDian god Omicron).

Yes, people are eating out, socializing in large groups, etc and that’s why our #s are skyrocketing. Where exactly do you think people were catching it, big brains?

Hahahah - if we'd only just lockdown harder, that'd do it. This is a seasonal surge of a highly transmissible virus. The idea that humans can control the spread is a joke after 2 years of consistently failing.

We're vaccinated and living with the less than flu level risk that COVID is already for vaccinated people and unvaccinated kids. My health is way more than catching the equivalent of a cold. Human mental and physical health depends on human interaction.

Keep fighting your lonely war. The rest of us our enjoying life.

Intelligent humans manage to have human interaction without cramming into indoor restaurants during the most transmissible variant BY FAR in an ongoing pandemic.

It’s not all or nothing. We do interact with others - but we don’t need to go to large parties or eat out at the moment with this highly-transmissible variant surging.

Why are you such an a-hole about it? You like to be contrarian?

Do you not realize the correlation of the number of people doing these things and the rise in cases?

everyone will get it eventually. vaccines aren't designed to prevent infections. that's been news for like six months or so. vaccines prevent severe cases in most cases. you're stuck in march 2020.

Does anyone in Arlington really enjoy life? The constant overanalyzing, obsessing about politics, maintaining privilege ....
