I’m from AZ, lived in NOVA for 9 years and have now lived in CO for longer—there are a handful of ok Mexican places here (mostly the places that have taken over buildings that used to be other fast food restaurants) but we really haven’t found any that we really like. Better than the options around DC though. I once made the mistake of going to a “Mexican” restaurant in Scotland. Will never try Mexican food outside of North America again. |

I am Mexican American via New Mexico and lived in AZ. I make my own flour tortillas like my grandmother. Basically I make my own Mexican food. There used to be a little place at the Reston farmers market that used to have awesome breakfast burritos. Taco zocolo has a good habenero salad buy they insist on rice In burritos and the filling is always cold so I gave up. For the people in the back: no rice in my burrito!

Salsa not salad. Stupid autocorrect |
LOL.. did the same in London. Yikes. |
Guapos is inedible. District Taco is also very bad. Arizonan. |
Are you referring to Tacos y Salsas or tacos Junior because I miss those places so much |
When I moved here I tried Anita’s thinking it would be like Little Anita’s and was very disappointed. |
From DC but went to Univ of New Mexico - and yes!! Chili roast this weekend (we’re getting 20lbs) and the food! Yum. What I wish we could find here are good corn tortillas. |
| What about Taco Bar el Guero? Is that authentic? I wouldn’t know, but I thought it was pretty good. |
| The places to go to are in neighborhoods you don’t want to go to. |
Name them. I don't care |
| Arizonan here. My local favs are Anita’s (New Mexico style) and then El Paso (Sonoran style). However, each of these restaurants would only rate about a 6.5 - 7 back in Tucson. |
Chuy’s (chain) had some New Mexican style stuff and it was decent but the one in Rockville closed. |
| Arizonian. I enjoy Gringos and Mariachi's in Bethesda and Rosa Mexicano for what they are, but there is nothing that compares to the authentic hole in the wall Mexican restaurants in Arizona. |
Preach! There should not be rice in a burrito! |
