I love the name Helen. Very ahead of the trends. |
Stop embarrassing yourself, PP. You make the same ugly comment on every name thread. It’s boring. |
You could not be more wrong. Names are just in or out of fashion - nothing more. Our daughter’s will name their daughter’s Susan, Barbara, Sharon, Paula in droves. They will be the most popular names of our granddaughters generation. Just look at name trends over the decades. Our Sophias will have little Barbies and Susies. |
| Love it! |
Love Polly! |
| Paula comes from my generation, I did not like the name then and still don’t today, It’s an (unpopular) man’s name adding an “a” to make it a girls name. I get that names make comebacks, but some never will - I’ll put Paula in that category but Susan or Helen are not. |
I also dislike feminized male names in general (and would like to point out that it never, ever goes the other way). I couldn’t put my finger on why I don’t like Paula but that might be it. These names always sounds kind of lame to me. |
| I think for all names theee is an “association” factor. Paula was the name of one of my oldest sister’s high school friends - very smart, athletic (grew up in the ocean so was one of the surfers I ever knew) and was gorgeous, so I love it. I have three boys and some of their friends have turned me off Sophia/Sofia. |

I suggested Pamela to my husband for DD2.
I am not a huge fan of Paula, but at least it isn’t yet another top 10 name. |
| There is one problem with this name, OP: it is too beautiful! The world needs more Paulas, not fewer. |
| Ugly name |
| Along with Lucia, Very on trend for Spanish girls born circa 2015 |

I love it. I wouldn't have said this 10 years ago. But I have really come to like it AND Paul for a boy; if I had any more kids, I'd consider it. I love that it works across many cultures. Use it!

Paula Pell started out as a baby named...Paula. OP, I like it. |
