Who are these refugees from Afghanistan who keep arriving at Dulles?

Also, are they staying here or are they going to be moved throughout the country?

Conservative here. I have a close friend who is helping with the effort. She assured me that they are all vetted in multiple checkpoints throughout the airport and indeed are definitely those that helped us. She's in cybersecurity.

She also (disturbingly) told me that there are very few Americans among them and that those Americans have 90 days to pay back all evacuation expenses while Afghanis are getting $1200 per person in the family, housing, food, clothing, furniture etc.

How much do you want to bet that OP is a "Christian?"

But they will move and form enclaves after a year’s mandatory settlement or whatever it’s called, and change some neighborhoods quite significantly.

I am worried about schools, FCPS specifically. Maybe the number of refugees is not that high, but for the amount of posts asking for donations on my Facebook page and nextdoor, Iam worried about the impact on FCPS resources - class size, ESOL, etc.

You are disgusting and that’s all I have to say about that.

Is this because Americans were told to leave the country earlier and so should have been gone by now?

Who says anything about integration?

More likely someone with a “Hate has no home here” sign in her yard and a “Be kind” sticker on her car.

Historically every major immigrant group has integrated into US culture despite people always screaming it won’t work. This is a tiny number relative to our population not exactly a wave. I’d personally be thrilled to have more restaurants like Helmand in Baltimore man that place is delicious.

+1. From the 1990s. Fairfax Co. has been a major receiver of immigrants from central america since the early 2000s which has significantly changed the demographics of the system. Pretty sure Afhgani's are "good" immigrants, but whatever.

As long as they embrace American values it works.

Invade the world begets invite the world.

It would be a shame if these refugees had to go to the same schools as all the kids of defense contractors that ruined their home country.

If this isn't the northern Virginia suburban mindset in a nutshell. Likely to consider yourself rich and liberal but desperately guarding your slice of the resource pie and viewing any brown person as a threat to your children.

Afghans will be classified as White and DCUM posters will still go ahead and call schools full of people originally from other parts of the world “lily white.”
