Everybody is going to get Covid.
|
I mean who really cares about asymptomatic Covid? If it’s asymptomatic … great. Im only worried if it’s a bad illness. |
Exactly. Too many ignorant a-holes who can’t do the right thing. |
Because asymptomatic doesn’t mean you aren’t contagious and can’t pass it to some else who might not be so lucky. This is our social contract collapsing, no one cares at all about their impact on those around them. |
See, it’s not just about you. This is a public health crisis. The decisions you make impact those around you. |
actually it basically does- https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/27/4/20-4576_article Their is a huge difference between 'asymptomatic' and pre-symptomatic. There is no evidence that truly asymptomatic cases are spreading COVID to anyone. |
The actions stemming from the ignorance of certain groups and how they underestimate the impact of the Delta variant is going to adversely impact everyone else's kids. Looking at what the southern states are facing, I'm appalled at their sense of logic....sadly, civic mindedness is not quite instilled in this country.

+1 What is wrong with these people? |
I haven’t signed my kid up because I don’t want my kindergartner who just turned 5 to have a stranger do an uncomfortable nasal swab without mom or dad there to reassure him 🤷🏻♀️ |
These are the shallow swabs FWIW |
Would you rather have your kid suffer some slight discomfort or risk having your household (and everyone else in the school community) infected? https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2021/08/23/1029737143/breakthrough-covid-infections-add-even-more-chaos-to-schools-start-n-2021 |
Exactly. Land the helicopter lady. |
Sure, I mean your asymptomatic kid could pass it to someone who is high risk and they might die, but no worries for you! |
I have no objections to my kid being tested. I’m a little uncomfortable with them having medical testing (no, not overly invasive, but still a 30 second slightly uncomfortable procedure) without a grownup they know present. Do you send your 5 year olds to the doctor by themselves? I don’t think this is being a helicopter parent. Perhaps if we were serious about testing as a country, we’d supply everyone with at home testing kits (free of charge) instead of arbitrarily testing people and then giving them the results a couple of days later. |
So your confirmed kid may or may not test negative on days 5-7 and may be home much later. I’m very confused by the different scenarios. I need a chart, examples etc. |
