But why didn’t you call the police? Wouldn’t that be the first reaction of anyone? If I lost a chunk of money I’d check with the local police first to see if anyone had turned it in.

I recently found a wallet on the pavement in a local park. Full of credit cards, DL, honestly can’t remember if there was cash. Immediately called
FXCO Police and was given the option of either taking it to a precinct or waiting for an officer on patrol to meet me.
In the midst of Covid, I stayed where I was and after a 1/2 hour, an officer arrived to collect the wallet.

What do you think the police did with it?

Maybe a parent working for cash brought their kid for soccer practice

Keep the money. Not a second thought. Use it or give it away. Up to you. Either way you’re circulating thru the economy.

You could use it for a down payment for Evergreen Sportsplex? OH WAIT... Revolution Sportsplex.

Anonymous wrote:You should have actually called the Police. Trying on a website and no one contacting you is not a good faith effort. I mean I would for $20-$50….. but hundreds I woulda have. That’s life impacting. I think you could have claimed it after a certain length of time passed. At this point you should donate it.

I agree, OP. It's kind of mind-boggling you don't have your priorities straight. All you needed to do was call police, and follow their directions. Please remember next time.

A year ago, we were barely out of the early days of pandemic. I wouldn’t have wanted to go inside a police station at that point for someone else’s problem.

Donate it to afghan refugees. They need diapers, deodorant, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

I never pick up money or wallets or what not off the ground unless I see who dropped it can can maybe track them down.

Not OP! Thank you for writing this; my thoughts exactly.
