WTF. When boys have said those things to my DD, I tell them off myself. They may think they’re so cool and tough, you should see the look on their face when I’m done with them. And then I don’t bring her around them ever again. I’d never sit back and say nothing or expect DD to handle it on her own. This is how females get taught to set aside their own self-esteem because they don’t want to “hurt” a male’s feelings.

FWIW, I made rape jokes in front of my best friend’s mom when I was 15 and she ripped me a new one. She had worked with rape victims for a long time. I absolutely deserved it and it was one of the most valuable learning experiences from my youth, since in my household rape was seen as something women deserved for being drunk or dressing a certain way. I’m so happy someone called that sh!t out and made me see things a different way.

1) Have DD stay home when you go to their house.

2) Quit the friendship altogether.

3) call out the kid EVERY. SINGLE. TIME you hear him say something rude.
