You pull him out of preschool, take off work, tell your nanny not to come in and get your toddler tested for covid (which is painful). You get tested for covid along with your husband and nanny. Everyone waits three days for the negative results. You’re out the work days and the pediatrician’s copay. And for what? For the inconsiderate nanny who brought a snotty kid to the playground?

It would only be necessary to test the child, and rapid tests are available same day. My ped turns around the other kind in 24 hrs. If yours takes 3 days, go somewhere else. I don’t like taking a sick day but it happens. It’s part of having a kid.

NP here. The rapid tests are proven unreliable. Your pediatrician, of all people, should know that. They’re especially dangerous for young children who are super spreaders.

If your child has cold symptoms then preschool will make them get a test. You get same-day tests everywhere. Test the child first. Take a sick day and go back the next day once it’s negative. One year into the pandemic you should know that. Why are you so dramatic?
