He was well liked when he was an AP at Churchill for about 5 years prior to becoming the CJ Principal. Good move putting someone in place who is not only well liked by the community but also very familiar with Churchill itself.

Bayard Rustin's principal intern will now be serving as acting principal for the year. They could arrange something similar at the other schools whose principals were promoted today.

That's pretty good, though as someone who works in MCPS, I'm also well-acquainted with a third type -- generally pleasant but not-too-bright and widely known-to-be ineffectual. These folks stay in their position forever.
