put a bike short under little girl's dress?

I don't care for the look of bike shorts under a dress personally.. I do these bubble shorts for my almost 2 year old (she's 95% with a bubble bum and 24m fits her fine with a diaper). They look more like bloomers imo.

I don't think OP said the kid *needs* to wear a dress. Personally my 2 year old asks for dresses because she likes mine. I wear them because they are comfortable.

Shorts are easier to play in for kids.

But you don’t play on a playground for two hours daily. Pp is right. Shorts and tees on girls. Dress is just vanity imposed by society. Give her functional clothes!

I don’t see how a lightweight cotton dress over a pair of bike shorts is not functional.

Uh ok. Put your sons in dresses and see how they find it "functional" lol

Because the longer dresses lead to more injuries when on the playground equipment. They get their feet caught up in them.

NP. You have no idea what you’re talking about. They’re knee length or higher, not anywhere close to long enough to trip on. Take it from the multitudes of parents that have kids who like play dresses. And I see as many boys in overly baggy shorts that are more cumbersome than stretchy shorts. Or keep digging in, just know you sound like you haven’t actually been to a playground in the last 30 years.
