Constantly on guard? Since when is locking a car door being “constantly on guard.” Is wearing your seatbelt being CONSTANTLY ON GUARD, or is it just common sense. It starts with common sense. Yes, your car can still get broken into or be stolen. But a lot of times, thieves want quick and easy and crimes of opportunity, and if your car is locked, they’ll move on to the next one. |
+1 please just lock your car doors. Also park in your garage if you have one. Clear out your junk if you have to. If you don’t have a garage, park in your driveway or assigned parking spots vs. the street. Cars parked on the street are targeted much more often. |
Plus criminals like to siphon gas from driveway-parked cars that don’t have secure gas caps. Ask me how I know

The Fairfax Democrats are more interested in firing the new police chief and curtailing the funding and responsibilities of the FCPD than preventing crime.
You get what you pay for, folks. Don’t be surprised when Fairfax ends up as unsafe as Montgomery and PG. |
| The homeowner was not a gun owner I assume. |

Criminal minds thinking up ways to take what's not theirs. |
| I don’t live in a McLean Nc mansion and even I have an alarm system. Get one. |
omg I better run out and vote R now so we can be more like Texas |
Fill me in. Our cops pre-cogs? How are they going to prevent crime? In particular, how would they have prevented this crime? Preventing crime is not a job a cop can actively do most of the time. Their job is to keep order and enforce the law when crime is committed. Unless you want a full on police state, of course. |
Same. Though my spouse leaves for work at 5 and I don't get up until 5:30. We discussed yesterday whether he needs to turn the alarm on for those 30 minutes seeing as how that break in and the recent car thefts seem to be happening around that time. |
| We have guns and will shoot intruders as it is our god given right to kill them as per VA law |
| Virginia law says that God gives you the right, really? |
| Got a better link to the Ring video(s)? |
| There is something very strange about that Mclean break in. The time of day, the amount of time they spent working on the door... Some information is being left out. |
