Another DP who doesn’t get it either. All I noticed was the bad lip synching. |
There’s clearly a specific age range that finds him attractive—40+ y.o. women. Actually, more like 50+ y.o. women. My 18yo daughter thought he looked “conceited” and “dumb” whereas I think he is “cute” in the way that the “cutest guy in high school” was. It’s a nostalgia thing, a throwback to more innocent times. The bad lip syncing is intentional—he’s hamming it up and his audience loves it. |
Plenty of young women on tik tok etc cultivating a following of older men and making money. It’s not like he’s taking clothes off, and apparently he’s a professional model. Let him make some money too. |
Yep. He looks very 80s. |
Literally no one cares that his lip synching is bad. The idea is that you are transported back to high school where this super cute cute guy would be your boyfriend and would be singing this to you. And you would be in loooovvvveeee. |
| Apparently I am the demographic for this (48 year old white woman), but I find these videos to be deeply weird. I don't really understand the appeal, but then I always went for the Ducky Dale types rather than the Blaines. |
Maybe I am not swooning because I dated a guy who looked like him in HS and he sang to me and stuff but we just fought all the time.
|
He's out of central casting for an 80s heartthrob, like, fer sher!.
|
| He looks like the romantic interest from Adventures in Babysitting, can't remember what else he was ever in. |
| I’m 47 and the lip synching is what I noticed. Cant lust over someone that age. He is a pretty boy but I don’t find him appealing. Too manufactured (and young). |
| He knows his audience. Good for him. |
| It's the mullet for me. |
| I don’t think we’re lusting after “him” we are lusting after the idea of 80s throb. It’s bringing us back, that’s all. We’re not creepy. |
