#10

If you email or call the immersion office they will let you know how many students are currently ahead of you as they move through the list.

Which immersion program is the most popular? We are just above ten on the waiting list for first grade...

Years ago my daughter was #10 for first grade. I called the office and asked for the dates for the last several years for that program and they went to at least #11 each year…so we knew she’s likely get in but it wasn’t until November, which was fine as we enrolled her in a class for the target language so she would at least know something. It worked out wonderfully for us but she did request support that school year so we got a tutor from the other language program (the teachers at their school cannot tutor the kids) and hired her for an additional year and she thrived. Loves the language and is now in Middle school.

What about #15-#20 for RCF???? We are really hopeful!

Any other Page ES waiting list notifications recently?

Not an answer to your question but more of a comment. My child is in immersion at RCF and while I’m super appreciative of the opportunity, I will say there is a lot of teacher turnover and I think that creates some challenges. My oldest’s kindergarten teacher was new to the school when he had her (she left the next year), 1st grade teacher left after her second year. Third grade teacher was new to the school as well. It seems like the county in general has a hard time keeping immersion teachers and I think they don’t often get the resources they need.

The head of the immersion program at the school is wonderful and community is welcoming.

Any news from RCF yet this summer? Does notification come from the school directly or the county? We have a low number (less than five, first grade) and would love to know prior to the start of school…wondering if that’s at all likely.
