I am once again asking you to sleep until dawn.

+1 my kids are teenagers and I still remember this, and my DH did most of the 5 am stuff since I did the 2 am. A+ thread title.

Where is the baby when he’s babbling? Can you just let him babble until he falls back asleep or cries? That’s what I used to do — I’d get up for the feeding, but if my DC didn’t fall back asleep I’d just put her in her crib and go back to sleep. She’d just lie on her back babbling and looking at her mobile until she fell back asleep.

When her wake ups were closer to 6, we’d often just bring her in bed with us and she could babble and play between us while we read or looked at phones or sometimes even slept (just one of us tho since we weren’t set up for coalescing). I have fond memories of this time. It’s not the same as sleep but it’s very pleasant and restful. I wish my toddler could still be content to relax in this way every day! But once they are really mobile those moments are much harder to come by.

So 10 hours of night sleep and 1.5 hours of total daytime sleep? Is that right?

It sounds like baby needs a fourth nap squeezed in during the day. Doing so would push bedtime later, but hopefully also morning wakeup.
