| Oh I remember this so much. It's murderous. You sound fun though, and it'll pass quickly I'm sure. Good luck! |
| Feed Gerber rice cereal before bed. That changed our life |
This baby is only 4 months old. .ost 4 months old can't go all night without a feeding. |
OP. He has in the past. I’d honestly prefer a 2am feeding and sleeping later to a ten hour stretch that ends before dawn, but so far he appears callously indifferent to my preferences. |
| He might not be hungry for food. He could just crave interaction. My FTT baby really needed the feeds, but my other bio kid just wanted to held and talked to. |
| At the 2am wake up, he’s really half awake and has no interest in interacting. He chugs down a breastful of milk and conks right out again. He probably doesn’t need it but I was hoping it would make him sleep later in the morning. |
Me hate er you do will change next month anyway. Babies wake with the sun. It will get better in august. |
Or formula. Digests more slowly. |
Babies need to feed at night. Brain development happens while they are sleeping. |
hahahah! Parenting, in a nutshell. No matter the age. |
Are you changing him then, too? I would, if you're not. When my baby was that little I could stealth change him on the bed after he fell asleep nursing. It was no big deal. And that way a wet diaper isn't waking him at 5am. |
| Maybe he needs more wake time during the day. Like 15 minutes here, 15 minutes there. That’s it. Sometimes my kids needed a little nudge during the day to keep sleep drive strong and lasting through the night. |
Short answer: Sorry but, your kid can't be bribed to sleep later. This too shall pass and when he is a teen you will be begging him to get up before NOON. |

Yeah I had one of these 5am babies. She was a 5:15am toddler. It. Was. Brutal.
Sleeping past 6am is literally life changing. Now she's 7 and sleeps past 7am easily and it's wonderful. I used to wonder why kid play places didn't open at 7am, because I would have been there (with my coffee) on many many winter mornings. Pre covid obviously. |
