We are worried about who wins a U13 soccer tournament in any bracket? LOL

It is the top bracket, but this isn't a super elite tournament. The combined records of the 5 non-SYC teams in this top bracket are 36 - 62 - 10 (more or less, tallied it by hand). The SYC teams makes the overall records better, but is still only slightly above .500 at 85 - 78 - 14 (again more or less).

Super elite U13 tournament. LOL

The idiocy on these boards sometimes defies belief. First, you do realize that SYC’s top team’s records are not complete, right? Do you see all the mls next matches recorded or did you just blindly move beads on the old abacus? Second, you do realize that team records are not really comparable across leagues, right?

That's two age groups for one gender; SYC (expect for 2008 and 2007 boys) are not MLS Next right now.

This is 2008s under discussion, so yes, nitwit, their top team is mls next.

Looks like the OP is eating some crow this morning. One of the teams dropped out, so it switched to 2 groups of 3, with the second place team in each group getting a chance to go to the finals. BRYC lost to both SYCs, so it looks like the tournament did get it right, putting the best two teams SYC 08 and SYC 09 in different brackets.

Yes, BRYC ECNL lost to both SYC teams. Case closed.

No, this is not their MLS Next team, at least not the full team. The full team has 20 players, there were only 14 players, which are their SYC players. The other only play in MLS Next games.

I know, I know it's complicated!

How is he boring. You're only picking on him because he's the only registered user.

I figure one guy named "Anonymous" is just really prolific.

I only chimed here because I don't understand the word usage at all.

If you are going to be a fusspot, fuss with greater precision. Your objection could be on a number of grounds, none of which you have articulated, and all of which may be rebutted, so if you want to move the dialogue along, be more specific in explaining your misunderstanding, which, I suspect, translates properly to “objection.” (Snark would be telling you that I don’t understand your misunderstanding, but in the interest of brevity, I cut to the chase.). I suspect you think that it cannot be nepotism because (1) the teams are not blood kin, or (2) this does not involve employment, or (3) neither the 08 nor 09 teams received preference. Only the third objection seems legitimate (especially in light of their results) when we consider that people view clubs as families and commonly use nepotism more broadly to describe preference for family in selection of any kind.

McLean and BRYC did about the same, but McLean did not whine about bad draw, BRYC did.

All you had to say was the last part - 20-25 words. I’m not sure how many parents really think of clubs as family, but at least I’d understand the usage.

I object to your misuse of the words “legitimate,” “objection,” “brevity” and “precision,” but I’ll grant you “fusspot” and move on.

Again, you simply object without explanation, though you appear to deny that your initial “misunderstanding” was an “objection.” I suspect this
more recent objection actually is a “misunderstanding” on your part - My usage of all of those words was correct, though I grant you that “greater precision” may have been wrong to the extent i implied there had been any precision whatsoever in your previous posts.

My child was not in U13B but the SYC team we played had the nastiest, rudest parents and they played dirty. They didn’t win in the end which felt good because of how they played and behaved. None of our other matches were like that this weekend.
