+1. These tournaments don't matter. Somebody has to win and somebody has to lose.

I know this happens in every tournament. Teams are seeded wrong. But this is a huge tournament so I am not sure what the organizers were thinking.

SYC doing all the can to help their orange and white teams

Guess all depends on whether you want to play lesser teams band have a better chance of winning
Or play better teams and develop or at least take away for summer how hard need to work to get to that level

Cozy false affirmation v hard reality

Seriously this is your confidence in me? And you always tell me you just enjoy watching me play ... a lie?

This one will most likely be an all SYC final. Anything can happen in youth soccer, but this one has a big mismatch between most teams and the SYC teams. I feel bad for all the other teams besides BRYC 08 Boys ECNL. That team has the worst parents I have ever seen. One match there was a teenage girl ref, who wasn't perfect, but was better than a lot of refs and called it pretty fairly. She hurt her ankle towards the end of the game and couldn't continue. At the end of the game, she was sitting down with ice on her ankle and this BRYC dad comes up screaming at her so much that her dad and that BRYC dad got into it. I think the only reason fists didn't fly was luckily there was a fence between the two.

BRYC parent here who was also at that game. Get your facts straight please. No one yelled at the refs after the game. There was commentary during the game, but I've never seen an ECNL game where there wasn't a comment or two. After the game, the teenage ref was huddled with the other refs on the field in the endzone. This interchange started on the other side of the track lanes near the stands. The ref's dad was the instigator--how would anyone know who the ref's dad was? Yes, tense words were exchanged, but again, the refs were a good distance away, no one spoke to them, and the ref's dad was the one who started it all.

McLean boys got pushed up to the top brackets across a number of age groups. They have performed poorly this season and will get slaughtered. It's SYC's way of letting everyone know that McLean boys need SYC

Well maybe - except SYC aren't going to help because they're going to do MLS Next instead.

They didn't invent this, but a 'forward-thinking club' wouldn't just do whatever McLean and Arlington does.

Facts are straight. After the game that BRYC dad was yelling at the injured girl. Her dad then defended his child and got into it with the BRYC dad. You might not have noticed until the two dad's got into it, but it did happen. I will agree that the BRYC parents were obnoxious during the whole game. The event at the end put it over the top. Pretty sad that there is another BRYC parent defending that behavior. At least there was one BRYC mom who apologized loudly to everyone who just witnessed that event saying that is not who we (BRYC) are.

It is the top bracket, but this isn't a super elite tournament. The combined records of the 5 non-SYC teams in this top bracket are 36 - 62 - 10 (more or less, tallied it by hand). The SYC teams makes the overall records better, but is still only slightly above .500 at 85 - 78 - 14 (again more or less).

As someone with a kid who will be playing in that division and who is not on one of the "favored" teams, I say BFD.

Just enjoy the tournament games, think of it as an opportunity to play hard against tough competition and improve the players' game.

The idiocy on these boards sometimes defies belief. First, you do realize that SYC’s top team’s records are not complete, right? Do you see all the mls next matches recorded or did you just blindly move beads on the old abacus? Second, you do realize that team records are not really comparable across leagues, right?
