New Car Negotiation

For Mercedes, I would shoot for 12-13 percent. You will have to be patient and get turned away a few times. But it's possible. Mercedes happens to be my favorite brand right now. That's the dealership I was sitting in two days ago.

BMW X3

Limited data available, but seems like 16 percent off MSRP is possible. I would aim for 18 percent and see. That seems pretty aggressive to me but the data says what it says.

Thank you for the info disgruntled car salesperson.

I hope you like your next position.

What cars are the best deals right now? You mentioned trucks being hard to move, and I've kind of always wanted to drive a pick-up.

Op, if you are buying sedan then you are in luck because no-one buys them these days so you can get a really good deal.

Also, true car is not very aggressive number. You should be able to get a sedan for 10% lower than a true car. Done it many times.

4runner and Toyota trucks have barely any discounts. They don't break down and have excellent resale values.

Carvana. Negotiating for car prices is stupid and needs to just die already.

I don't know what you would consider a best deal. If you just want inexpensive reliable transportation, a Toyota of some sort should work well.

No one forces you to negotiate. You can always just buy a car from a dealer for MSRP. They would be glad to sell you a car.

True Car used to be very accurate when it first came out. But brands became highly upset and some started pulling their data feeds. They had no choice but to do ranges instead of giving specific prices.

Not a disgruntled car salesman at all. Just a guy that buys a lot of cars and learned how to use Google. It seems that a lot of people are willing to pay several thousand dollars to avoid a few hours of work. I am just showing how easy it is to figure out what a good deal is on a car.

Is there any room to negotiate for a Tesla model Y?

Not really. Tesla does not negotiate.

Honda HRV?
Thanks.

Hey, I would start at 18% off as an aggressive discount. There are about $2k of incentives available for the HRV - not all of which you may qualify for but that's up to the dealer to figure out. The fact that there are such heavy incentives on this car shows you just how idiotic the claim is that inventory for cars is tight. If you can't get any dealers to budge at 18%, you can fall back to 15%. I would not pay more than that.
