So you have never taken a newer medication? Like biologics? Or statins when they were new? Plenty of medication is fully approved and have had FAR less data and test cases than these vaccines and people take them all the time. And sometimes approved medications are recalled. I could imagine mRNA has some long term risk, maybe even something terrible like cancer because of DNA encoding errors (just making stuff up) but it’s not like it’s going to change from month 4 to 6. It’s likely either a very short term inflammation risk or a years long something else risk. And COVID has a very clear short term risk, and honestly could likely have long term risk similar to HPV and shingles, it’s a pretty wide ranging and impacting virus, so I would gamble on vaccine over COVID. Maybe Novavax will be better but won’t be authorized for months, and likely won’t have approval for longer since so few people will be taking it (since so many took mRNA). If I was a childless hermit who could isolate forever, I would wait for Novavax. But I’m not so mRNA it is. |
The fing real agenda is to end the pandemic, which requires us all working together and shouldering the vaccine risk. We only get community spread down by vaccination or real lockdowns, and we already learned Americans can’t lock down to save their mother. |
Until all the kids can be vaccinated that isn’t going to happen. I will wait until it’s approved for children since I am smaller than many children. |
So, essentially your objection is either emotional or political rather than medical. Since that's the case, why would you care what the medical data say or what approval level has been given, or how many years of data we collect? Serious question. If your concern is medical, then your irritation at others' encouraging people to get it would not affect your level of skepticism. |
Me too. Does that matter? Do you mean approved for emergency use or full approval? |
No I have never taken much more than a vitamin and a few OTC pain relievers very sparingly. |
I will wait for full approval for my children and myself. If it’s not safe for kids, it’s not safe for me. |
Once it's not under EUA places of business can start requiring their employees to get it. So can schools etc.
So then hospital systems can require all their employees to get the vaccine. Public schools can require it. It will certainly be a good step forward. |
Stupid question but won't that be 2022? At that point won't it have mutated? |
Remember that some of us will take our religious exemption. It’s still America for God’s sake. The Communists aren’t yet totally controlling us. |
Genuinely curious - is your religious objection specific to the covid vaccine or is it for all vaccines? If the former, what's the basis of the religious objection? (I promise I really want to understand - not trying to start a fight.) |
Someone is preparing a complete analysis on six months of data of giving COVID vaccines to kids? |
Sensible perspective. |
Just curious what higher “safety standards” are you expecting to see proven? |
Pfizer started trials in kids 12+ last July So they should have six months of data pretty soon. https://www.pfizer.com/science/clinical-trials/children |
