What have you been doing since getting vaccinated?

I went for a haircut and color in July and October and then it became way too dangerous. I cut my own nails.

Now vaccinated, I’ll go for hair and a massage (therapist is also vaccinated) but otherwise no changes. I feel much, much calmer and for now that is plenty.

I just started cutting my own. I am now vaccinated but not in a hurry to go back to the salon.

It's only been a week and I have already gotten a pedicure, gone to the salon for cut and color, gone out to eat outdoors three times including with vaccinated friends, gone grocery shopping twice and gone clothes shopping. Next week I have a doc appointment, my parents are visiting and staying with us and I also have the cleaners coming back.

Vaccines are amazing. I tend to be a pretty anxious person, but getting back to living life has felt really great. I'm not nervous at all.

The only thing I haven't done yet is indoor dining.

Thought I'd be thrilled but stylist hadn't been vaccinated (mind spiral: so then can she somehow pass to me and I pass to my kids), people were so close to me (assistant washing, another stylist discussing color), it felt loud and crowded and I basically panicked. Good times! Next time trying something else

Yeah, I’m waiting for a haircut until more people are vaccinated and even then I’m going to start with a vaccinated outdoor haircut with a hairdresser wearing a mask

What?!? You’re vaccinated, right? What is a “vaccinated outdoor haircut”?

Anyhow, I’ve been grocery shopping in person, working in person, getting haircuts and pedicures, and traveling a bunch pre-vaccine so not much has changed. I wear a mask in all indoor spaces as I did before. I now socialize with others indoors without a mask. I run without a mask.

Got my second shot this week, so in about two weeks, I'm getting my hair cut (I've had it cut once outside in the past year, it looks disgusting) and my nails done. Later this spring, I am going shopping to buy clothes for my summer vacation.

Pedicure and waxing. Plus going out to eat with friends. It's been nice. My DD is turning 16 this week so hopefully he can get his vaccination soon so maybe we can fly to visit friends this summer.

I’ve been working in person this whole time but can now go to work and come home feeling like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Hung out with a friend at her house indoors.

Saw my nephews for the first time in over a year.

Spent time with my local relatives indoors for the first time in a year.

Next up- hair cut.

Typo. I meant to say I want the hairdresser to be vaccinated as well

Me too! I have thick wavy hair. It’s pretty forgiving. I notice no difference from me trimming my hair or a salon cut. I was also not getting constant mani/pedis before the pandemic so that wasn’t something I even felt I was giving up.

Did you need a vaccine or a Prozac?

Its probably been longer than that for me. I dye it myself and I only cut it a few times a year. My husband trims it for me and I do him and the kids.

I find this pretty incredible to believe too, PP. I was back at the salon the day it reopened last June and haven't missed an appointment since. Same with manicures/ pedicures. I cannot imagine giving up basic grooming for an entire year.

Manicures are not basic grooming. Unless you are Elle Woods.

Thanks for the report! I would have felt the same. Maybe I'll give this a pass for a while longer.

I'm about to make a dentist appointment though.

Which salon? This is exactly what I want to do first once I am fully vaccinated but lots of people loud and close sounds stressful after a year of being distanced.

I finally got my hair cut after 14 months.

They limited customers inside and took it seriously. We both wore masks, and we are both vaccinated. They took names at the door so they could contact trace, if needed. I thought that was responsible of them.

Ate outside with a vaccinated friend. Briefly removed mask to eat.

Some in my family still want to mask outside even when we are not within 50 feet of others, and I hope that they see the light soon because they are driving me nuts with that nonsense.
