Went to the farmers market and DC going back to preschool. Got takeout for a picnic and did not reheat. Really living on the edge, ha.
However the numbers look like we are heading for another surge so I’ll feel much more comfortably in June when we reach a tipping point with vaccines. |
Still wearing a mask, still social distancing, still WFH.
When do I get my life back? |
Not much different, except indoor dining once and seeing my parents and hugging them. I continue to not wear masks outside. Get hair done masked just as before. |
Which salon? This is exactly what I want to do first once I am fully vaccinated but lots of people loud and close sounds stressful after a year of being distanced. |
Had family over for Passover. Went out for Easter brunch (still outside). Just went to a crowded Costco on a Saturday. Making a dentist appointment. Making plans to see vaccinated friends.
I’ve been going to the hair salon since last May. Also gotten a few pedicures, when case #s were low. And did dr appts other than the dentist. Other than seeing friends inside it’s not much of an impact yet, other than a huge mental relief. I wear a mask but don’t worry about what other people are doing anymore. |
I’m wondering the same... |
Not much different. But I went to the dentist, salon, and ate outdoors before vaccinated. I stay masked, have not been inside a friends house. We did allow 2 kids in our house to use the bathroom. In the past we told them to go home (neighbor-ish) |
People really haven’t had a hair appointment in over a year ???? |
Wow I’d thought people would do more! I got a haircut, a mani pedi, and went shopping for clothes. Also ate at an outdoor restaurant |
Just about. My last haircut was last summer- I got it much shorter than normal because I knew it would be a while before the next one. I’ve been cutting my husband’s hair in our backyard. |
Mammogram, dentist, gyno, and a pedi. |
I’m vaccinated but I’ve been eating at outdoor restaurants since before ... pretty safe if spaced and outdoor. |
In DC or willing to go into DC, try balayage by Loan https://www.balayagebyloan.com/ He is vaccinated and masks were worn the whole time. There were not many people there either. Good for dipping a toe into the after life. Unless you live with a really medically vulnerable person who is not able to be vaxxed I don't know why the level of fear after vaccination. The vax resistant variants aren't predominant here right now and could arise, and your antibodies dwindle. Carpe diem. |
When you stop punishing yourself like this. |
I find this pretty incredible to believe too, PP. I was back at the salon the day it reopened last June and haven't missed an appointment since. Same with manicures/ pedicures. I cannot imagine giving up basic grooming for an entire year. |
