Anyone just a little sad about preschool results?

It took just a few weeks so I didnt pay a deposit at the other school, which was Franklin. Franklin had a pretty mellow process if i recall correctly. They didnt make me decide that instant.

Another poster here whose child was waitlisted at Aidan a couple of years ago. We sent a brief email that summer expressing our continued interest in the school should any spot become available.... and that's all it took. (Of course it also involved the serendipitous relocation of a dc family somewhere far far away, leaving the spot open at the last minute.)

very sad ! We've only heard that we are wait listed at CCBC, haven't heard from CCPC or CCUMC. We only applied to those 3. DDs best "friends" got in at CCBC.
My biggest issue is that DC #2 is coming in October and I was hoping to have a couple of mornings a week to myself with #2. I'm stressing about being home full time, all 5 days with both!

A little dissappointed about being waitlisted at Aidan. But good to see positive notes from parents stating there are chances of getting off the list and that there is more movement in the summer.

Hoping for the best

Aidan is very particular about age. Your child may have been very highly recommended and seen as a good fit, but just a little too young or old for the group.

CCUMC mailed results over a month ago. You should call them.

Very depressed!! thought this is a totally humbling/humiliating experience. I thought my kid is so smart being biligual and all that, but obviously there are smarter kids out there. Smarter parents too!! Foreign to this country and didn't know this forum until I received the first rejection letter. Boy am I not prepared!! May be I shouldn't have tried and dragged the whole family through this. Should have been happy with our existing pre-school and follow the plan of moving to NoVa for public schools next year. If I have not tried, I may be still very happy ...

pp here. Anyway, called up Aidan today. I was told that this year there are many siblings so movement in waitlist is not great ...

Yes, I am a little sad. But at that same time I am VERY MAD AT MYSELF for being sad. Because deep down down inside I know I am being silly.

We got into CCBC last April. Deposits are due 3/31. The beg. of April was a good time to call. We are very happy there.

I think we were lucky to get into Aidan last year and foolish in that it was the only school we applied to. I am sad too they do not have enough space to take the wonderful children and failmilies that really love the school. I would wait a few weeks a sent a note or email to the Ad and let her know how much you like the school. She is wonderful and in this economy you just never know when someone will be relocated and space will open up.

wait -- why did ALL the responders on this thread apply to only the same 4 preschools? Isn't that weird?
