Anyone just a little sad about preschool results?

Obviously, we'll only choose one, and that opens up at least 3 spots. We still are waiting to hear from others too so it could open up more than 3 spots. We had no connection to any of these schools or any other priority so that's why we applied to so many. The point is that this will all shake out and you will get off a wait list!

Holy smokes, is this common to apply to 9 preschools?!!

This is so scary to see people who have applied to 9 pre schools!!! I only applied to 3. SH#T!
DD will only be 2, so maybe if we don't get in she'll have a better shot next year. But what will I do with her THIS year? OMG.

When did CCBC letters go out??

Well we obviously overestimated the risk of not getting in to the schools, because we have been accepted at almost every one we applied to. If we knew that, we would have only selected 4 or 5.

you're too funny. i don't think 9 is normal but things are crazy w/preschools so i'm sure there are more than a few out there that do it. we got rejected from bev hills, waitlisted at valley dr, MOPS, westminster, and are waiting to hear from olivet, full circle, rock spring, aucp, holy crapper....i'm one of those pp!!!

yeah, we haven't gotten in anywhere either but like noted in this post, wait lists really move...so i hear, so i'm hopeful. i've also read that there's a lotta movement over the summer.

I know rejections are not about my child but space # vs priority applicants. But a rejection makes me feel defensive. I feel like my kid would be an asset to any school. Don't we all feel that way? Makes me a little sad for the future when DC will know the results of school admissions. Then who will take it personally?

For now, I need to remind myself that it will ALL work out. One step at a time, buy an Elmo backpack and label DC's clothes for September.

We got our letter from CCBC today. It was dated and postmarked for March 8th.

There is a ton of movement during the summer. I was rejected/waitlisted (can't remember since I was pregnant) at CCPC, then told there was a slot open. Hang in there. There are people who apply to a ton of schools, this is why I only applied to 3. Some of the moms in my son's play group applied to 7 (like the pp who applied to 9). Those slots will open up. Don't worry!

I knew we were rejected at the play date. I was sad until I realized ds hated the school. He did awesome on the other play dates. The school wasn't for him. Rejections suck but I think there is a silver lining to them.

I am SO sad, and see wine in my future this evening. Wait List to CCUMC, CCBC...

We are wait listed at Aidan and received notice today. Just curious if anyone has any insight to the evaluation of the 30-minute structured playtime interview. We were told that our daughter received a "high recommendation." Apparently there are "higher recommendations"-note the obvious sarcasm and I'm only on glass of vino number 1.

My kid did very well at the interview as well, and the evaluator said very strong positive things. It could not possibly have gone better. But, we received a wait list letter today too. I have decided that it had nothing to do with the evaluation of my kid's performance. They must not have liked our written materials (i.e. - it was me, not my kid).

Question: Did you actually "wait" to see what would happen, or did you pay a deposit at another school?
