Then it sounds like the misunderstanding happened at that level, the council didn’t fact check and started celebrating a little bit too early. I wish the politicians, both sides, with set their differences apart and do what is best for the people of Montgomery county. |
I wish they'd put their differences aside, stop whining and pointing fingers at each other, and do what's best for the people of the entire state of Maryland. Deeply disappointed in all of them, regardless of whether I voted for them (or their boss) or not. |
That makes sense. Thanks! |
| Moco is an utter shit show run by incompetent morons like Elrich. Oh wow, NOW you're just setting up a mass vax site by Mid April when the state of MD intends to vax people as young as 16 by around that time. I will be getting my vax well before then thanks to the STATE of MD and no thanks to MoCo. MoCo's vax rollout has been a disaster. THANK YOU gov. Hogan for a job well done over the cotse of the whole pandemic. Elrich and MoCo can piss off. Hogan should run for president. |
I thought the State declined to let MoCo open a site...even now they have not committed to supplying it. MoCo has been complaining about this since Six Flags opened. |
Maybe, just maybe, if MOCO hadn’t been so adamant about trying to show up the Governor at every step during this whole pandemic then maybe, just maybe, Hogan would be more inclined to open up a mass vax site in MOCO. Such is the game of politics. |
| Thank you Marc Erich chief of staff for posting this praise for our fearless leader. |
I thought Hogan’s staff would at least know how to proofread. |

Here's what happened:
MoCo has 2 county-run sites, both at schools. Those schools said they need the space back by 4/1 since schools are reopening. MoCo proposes using Montgomery College Germantown campus as a state mass vax site. The state is focused on geographic equity and there is already one for the DC region of MD, at Six Flags. The state's focus is opening up sites to serve Western MD and Eastern Shore, since there is nothing there. The state won't open up more sites other than those, until they get more doses. MoCo and MD meet about the Germantown site. MD offers to help MoCo with some logistics like laptops, wifi and stuff like that. MoCo takes this to mean it'll be a state-run mass vax site. MD does not. Note no paperwork was signed. So the Germantown site is a county-run site, replacing the 2 existing county-run sites that will close on 3/31. As for the vaccine being available to all adults by 4/27, that's true for _state-run_ vaccine sites, NOT for MoCo sites. In the name of equity, MoCo has made gettting a vaccine incredibly complicated. Just in Phase 1, there are 9 different tiers, compared to 3 in the rest of MD. Here's the difference: MoCo currently open for: Phase 1A - Tier 1, Phase 1A - Tier 2, Phase 1- Tier 3, Phase 1B - Tier 1, Phase 1B - Tier 2, Phase 1B - Tier 3, Phase 1C - Tier 1 (only). MD open for: Phase 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A then 3/30, MD open for: Phase 1C, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B In short, if you want to get a vaccine at a well-run site, sign up for the state mass vax site. You'll also be eligible sooner there. |
NOPE, he's Republican we will never vote for a Republican again. EX Republican here, fully supports the second amendment, not HOGAN or any other Republican for that matter ever again. Hogan hired a Trumpie to help him with this rollout. Not acceptable. That is why it is a mess and mixed messages MOCO people in charge are not the issue. Dr. Robert Redfield people thank him for any MD issues. |
Yeah, well just a bit of info for you. My daughter has been trying to sign up for appointment in MoCo for weeks. She got so fed up with the process, she finally decided she needed to go outside the county. So Thursday, she registered at Walgreens and CVS. Today got confirmation that she has appointment this Wednesday in Baltimore at a Walgreens and another invite for a CVS in Waldorf. Sp Baltimore County and Charles County seem to be functioning, so yeah, it is the county distribution and the leadership. The bucks gotta stop somewhere. |
I drove a family friend to a CVS in Towson yesterday and another friend of mine is driving to Salisbury tomorrow. Both live in the most populous county in Maryland and it is ABSURD that the state didn’t set up a large mass vaccination site there. |
| When the county sent out an email to all employees pleading for anyone who is currently or had in the past been licensed to administer shot to contact them because they don't have enough people to handle things the state took notice. Why waste the doses here if they can't administer them? |
+1 |
| Hogan is so desperate to revive his reputation after screwing up the vaccine rollout& the Purple Line and it really shows. |
