is this in reference to Rebels or MC? |
Rebels. Happened to the 24s (and some younger siblings of said 24s) |
I believe the group actually started at MC Elite. Then went to Rebels. Then left there and are now scattered. But there is drama pretty much everywhere. Can't make everyone happy and what is a good coach for one person is the polar opposite for another. To each their own. You just need to find your fit. |
| is it true that Rebels do not have two teams at each year? Just one large roster? |
If you try out, Haight will offer you a spot. As long as your check clears. But as said earlier, he has a combo 25/26 team currently so can barely field one team at some levels. Renegades seem to be a bit "healthier" but they are up in Frederick. |
Bitter? Hardly. Best thing that happened to my DD. She plays for a Baltimore club and the difference between the organizations is night and day. Hopefully things have changed. Like I said, I'll believe it when I see it. What I am is disappointed as that area could be a great area for lacrosse, but because of him, all the talent left - this is in reference to the 24s mainly... |
Renegades are the only club in Frederick whereas there is far more competition in MoCo. Bit of a different situation. Some do go to other clubs, yes. But it is a different draw. |

Haight certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea. But that can be said for all club owners. We like him and DD is on that 25/26 team and she is really enjoying herself. From my understanding, the team is splitting next year and I am confident there will be enough girls based on how the year has gone for us.
You truly can't just take what people write on here as your only information. You have to go and actually tryout places yourself. Some of us just have too much time on our hands... |
This is what I want - I don't want to drive all over to take my DD to practices. Too much time spent in the car but it seems like all the close MoCo teams have problems. Is it really worth dealing with the problems of a close MoCo team? |
3D Frederick now at least at the 25 level. And they are in the A bracket for NGLL. Don't know much about them... Funny...after a quick check, that may be the only team they have in the NGLL. Strange.... |
Happy that it's working out for you all. I'd love to see the team be successful since my kids have friends on the various teams and we're in the area. |
It's their only team now; they used to have more teams but all fizzled out. They were Lax Factory then were bought out. They have no other team so I don't really consider them a full club. |
^^PP here -- For us it was because we figured all the other teams would have problems too, and that did seem to be the case. Families that left MC Elite then complained about the teams they went to. Mostly, we just tried to keep lacrosse as a compartment in our daughter's life, not the center of it. In college, lacrosse continues to be something she loves and we enjoy getting to see her play (or, at least we did, prior to the pandemic), but she has other interests and activities and that's exciting to see as well. |
This is exactly right. All of the teams have problems. Many, for example, are closely tied to HS teams/coaches. Others have coaches that lie to kids and parents. It is really just important to take a wholistic approach, keeping in mind that not even all of the girls on Hero's or M&D are getting recruited. |
Their website was down for months last year. There was no communication to players/parents for long stretches. Now they have decided that they want to salvage the club. |
