Here's to golf carts only! |
| Make sure you reserve a golf cart on HI now. Lots of people going there for months at a time right now.. |
| Doesn’t Bahamas require multiple testings throughout your stay? Plus you’d have to test to get back into the US. I’d just visit STX Buccaneer resort or Marriott Carambola. |
| I love St. John, it is very untouched and just stunningly beautiful. Maho beach is just lovely, always calm and beautiful water. I've never found it crowded. |
Maho has always been one of our favorites, since the days when only a handful of Jeeps could park in the trees behind the beach! Unfortunately, it has become very crowded due to the parking lot and bar/food stand that was created behind the beach. |
| I found Maho rather crowded to the point where social distancing was difficult to maintain. We were there in Feb. |
This is sad. I have always found St John special because it isn’t crowded. Francis bay is also beautiful, I hope still it has the feeling of being untouched. |
| I would definitely go to HI over St. John’s. Rent a boat for a day so that you can go snorkeling with the turtles. We are heading to the Bahamas this weekend. You need to test before you go to get a health Visa. Once in the Bahamas, one needs to test on day 5 but this can also be used to renter the US. |
| We just got back from the USVIs. Wasn’t our first choice but went because of Covid restrictions elsewhere. We had a wonderful time. I don’t know why people are so snobby about it there. I am also a picky traveler and appreciated it for what it was. We also fell in love with water island which I would recommend you check out. |
It's crazy because *none* of the beaches we went to on St. Thomas had this problem. Even at Magen's on a weekend, if you went to the side of the beach that's farthest from the bar, you had tons of space to be safe. Other beaches on St. Thomas were far less crowded than Magen's, and we really enjoyed it, and it was far less expensive. St. John is just mobbed right now. |
Where are all these people staying though? I thought lodging options were still limited post-hurricane. Are there a lot of day trippers from st. Thomas? On the plus side, I’m sure the island could use the increased business. |
Most people prefer St. John over St. Thomas. They think it’s less crowded and more upscale. They need to let another company take over the Caneel bay lease and build a new resort. Or the government should turn it into a national park with beach amenities for day trippers from St. Thomas (and cruise ships). |
| I'm sure we would not have felt the same way about St. Thomas if the cruise ships were in. But right now, it's delightful. |

| The USVIs and PR have nothing on the other islands. It’s night and day. Don’t waste your time on them honestly! |
