| I don’t let teens tell me what I can and can’t wear. WTF |
|
What's TikTok?
love, Mom |
|
Well, my 19-year-old is shopping at second-hand shops and dressed as my mom did in the 70s! She bought also 80s high waist jeans! And she is buying me some clothes that are the same, to make me look hip!
|
| My thighs are way to juicy for skinny jeans, so I'm still stuck back in mid/low rise bootcuts. The horror! |
40 year old mom checking in. I think what I actually need a is a high-rise slim boot cut. Is that a thing? |
I think AG sells some. I love AG jeans. |
Yes! You are in luck - lots of places are making that type of cut! |
Part of the joy of being 40 is not caring about what anyone else thinks. |
|
i'm not going to change what I wear, but I am curious what Gen Z is wearing. I haven't seen people in so long . . .
Are they wearing jeans at all? Still leggings all the time? What in the world do they have on their legs? |
| Also, if we (and I’m Gen X not millennial) start adopting their style they will immediately change it anyway! That’s how it’s supposed to be |
They're wearing what SNL somewhat recently mocked as mom jeans. That look we all had in the 90s is cool again and they think they invented it.

|
I was with two 25 year old coworkers yesterday who were both wearing shiny black jeggings that looked like what Olivia Newton John wore when she went "bad" at the end of Grease. The other Gen X female and I exchange amused glances.
Really? To work? Just because they sell it doesn't mean we have to buy it, ladies! |
I don’t even know what I’m watching here. |
|
Wear what makes you happy and confident! My teen doesn’t want me to dress like she does — that is so embarrassing, mom!
There are many people who look better in a side part than a middle part, same with bangs or no bangs. Don’t be a slave to trends. Have more confidence. |
