It MUST be an ad because DL is working just find for my little ones, sweetie, and I refuse to think otherwise or see outside my own narrow perspective. Mmmkay. Tell Bill Gates to take his plug elsewhere we see right through it.

Do you even have kids? Why would you troll this when it’s meant to help other families struggling with DL? Lame.

It’s an ad lol! Go look at all the ad copy. Sites like Khan make tons of $$$ from traffic. This is driving traffic there. It’s not just some mom helping you, she’s selling it.

It’s cheap grassroots publicity. Go to the parenting education board. Hype our product. Y’all are stuck in 1998 where an ad is a page in a magazine.

DP. Okay if true, BFD. DL for us (ES age) has been a straight up disaster and would be getting an F by the Better Business Bureau if they tried to productize their education.

It's a non-secure web link. Be careful what you download.

Love Kahn academy, but why does FCPS continue to benefit from our tax dollars with teachers refusing to educate our kids properly....So angry.

Why do teachers get an extra day "off" -- making Monday asynchronous? Why do they have to work less, even though they are doing only DL?

Teacher here. Khan Academy is a long-standing nonprofit and is great.

Many of us assign Khan Academy as a supplement for our classes. It was a go to for me last spring when I didn't have much online material.

The (high school) teacher whose class I took over this year always used it as a main source of material.

I would like to point out, however, that the main instructional material consist of Youtube videos, and if a teacher were assigning it now, a lot of parents would be screaming here that it's because the teacher is lazy.

If public school is virtual it's time to defund public school and have parents chose online services or get a voucher for in person private.

Um no. This is only true for sites that have ads, like this one. Khan has no ads on their site. But you just keep on being wrong if it makes you feel better about yourself.

Public is offering online schooling. It just requires parent participation.

Teachers cannot win. Parents want teachers do everything and be everything to their kids so if they do videos, they are bad teachers. If they teach live, its too much screen time....

But, what public schools are offering is really lacking in quality. Why should we pay teachers when we can get a better online product from Khan for free?

Defund the schools.

Teachers are limited by MCPS on how and what they can teach. Stop blaming MCPS. Parents had a fit so now the curriculum and expectations are so low that if you child isn't passing and doesn't have SN there is another issue.

As of Feb. 1st they are offering free tutoring in all subjects online on top of the homework hotline. What more do you want them to do?
