Oh yea we liked this one too, although it did get kind of dark as time went on.

The last season was SO dark, hated.

Same- I appreciated how the show captured a less than perfect marriage, but it just kind of list the quirkiness/humor that made it so appealing in the process.

Agree. I dropped it for a bit because I wasn't in the right state of mind, and then just watched the rest to get it over with. Are they even parents the folks that wrote this?

Yes, the two leads are also writers and they are both parents. Rob Delaney lost a son to a brain tumor, I believe between the 3rd and 4th seasons.

Anonymous wrote:I really enjoyed the following original series on Amazon Prime:

Carnival Row - steampunk fantasy noir, but your mileage may vary.
Mozart in the Jungle - about professional concert musicians in NY
Good Omens - the friendship between an angel and a demon as they grapple with the coming apocalypse (funny/sweet)
The Boys - EXCELLENT - but super-violent and creepy

Loved Mozart in the Jungle and Good Omens! Haven't seen the others you mention, but don't like getting too dark. Good Omens I wanted to rewatch almost immediately after finishing it.

Also liked on Prime:

Catastrophe - others mentioned
Forever - I'm surprised I don't hear more about this one
Fresh Meat (British, about college freshmen, mindless fun)
Being Erica (Canadian, like free therapy, about going back to visit regrets in your past, funny and sweet, from 2009ish but still feels relevant)

NP here. Love Fresh Meat. I will check out your other suggestions. Might I suggest Chewing Gum and The Inbetweeners? Along the lines of Fresh Meat. Also Peep Show!

Happy Endings is another good one (on Hulu now I think)

Oh my goodness, The Expanse is so good. Just started season 1 this week and we are hooked. It takes elements from some of my favorite sci-fi stories and combines them into something new.

Pretty crazy that Bezos is so rich he could just buy a defunct franchise and tell his crew to make new episodes because he loved the original SyFy series so much. Thanks, Jeff!

I'm glad this thread got bumped up because this was a reply to me that I missed. I want to check those suggestions out, but don't currently have Tubi or HBO Max. I'm a sucker for British/Scottish/Aussie accents so will have to try a preview sometime.

Upload. Season 2 is coming out in the next few months. So good!

To the Lake was fantastic - I’m wondering if any more seasons are coming?

Wheel of Time was a mixed bag but with watching.

Fleabag the first season is so, so grim but the second season is just amazing.

I like the Expanse but I'll be the first person to admit I didn't 100% understand the sequence of events of the first season until I read the book. The space battles are amazing though.

Being the Ricardos! I didn't even like I love Lucy, but it was really good!

Shows I have enjoyed on Prime:

Bosch
Fortitude (Season 1 with Stanley Tucci is amazing)
Patriot
Transparent
Fleabag
Catastrophe
The Americans (not an Amazon original but on Prime)
The Julia Roberts season of Homecoming

I like some of the other suggestions - I agree with the previous poster that recommended The Fall. Amazing show.

OMG: Same exact reaction to Tin Star. Just couldn't go back to it. But, I will suggest that you try the Expanse again. It literally took my husband and me three attempts, but it was well worth it. I really loved the later parts of Season 1, and then most of the rest (one season, maybe 4, was...ok).

I also loved Patriot (the first season was truly amazing, the second not as great, but still worth watching).

I think Amazon also has my most favorite show - 30 Rock, which I loved rewatching.
