How about Cyd for the boys name and Adaline (Addy)? Enough to have meaning for you and your husband but not gimmicky.

It’s over. Twins are here and the have parents chosen different names. OP posted this to...I don’t know. Show her husband how many people hate the combo and thank god they didn’t go with his original choices?
PS- OP, glad you didn’t go with this. The combo. The names by themselves are fine. I think a lot of people would assumed Sydney was a girl.

*the parents have chosen

“Settle our debate” is misleading, OP.

Allwood and Botany Village have a nice ring to them. (obviously, botany village is a girl's name.)

Hi Everyone, this is OP. As I’ve said in the original post, this is all just in jest. Our twins are almost two and have completely common, non-matching names. For whatever reason my husband still brings this up wistfully so as a joke I suggested we poll DCUM. For what it’s worth, I think the names are fine individually.

Jersey and Passaic made me laugh so hard! Thank you

Ha! I know a female Perth. Beautiful human, terrible name.

No. Remember your honeymoon with a nice print on the wall or a toast on your anniversary or a photo album. Not with your kid's names.

It sounds like the punchline to a joke...

(Also, I would have expected g/g twins with those names, so it’s even worse.)

I propose Trenton (nn Trent) and Camden (nn Cammy)

My husband also kept suggesting weird joke names when I was pregnant. What is wrong with men? He also used to joke that we didn't need a carseat or a carrier or anything, that we could just carry the baby home from the hospital in a Safeway bag. I mean, I guess it's an okay joke now that I'm not pregnant, but at the time I was hormonal and annoyed and just wanted to finish our registry.

For real, men are a pain. I love mine, but still.

Great for twin girls. It really doesn't matter that Sydney used to be a boys name; so did Robin.

Biker and Rider?

As an Australian, I’d have found it hilarious!

If dad was Melvin, you could have gone with Melbourne!

Sidney was a boy's name first, becoming popular after the American Revolution into the nineteenth century, and peaked in popularity in the 1910s. It started to be used as a girl's name in the 1990s. Sidney Bechet, Sydney Pollack, Sidney Lumet, Sidney Poitier, Sid Caesar, the fictional Sydney Carton, etc. Still used as a boys name -- there is a Canadian NHL player named Sidney Crosby, an NFL player named Sidney Jones, etc.

Yes I’m aware. It’s still a terrible boys name.
