Is this candidate young, too? Most middle aged women would look as if they're semi-angry or tired, due to aging, gravity and wrinkles between their eyebrows (thus "resting btch face").

| To me it sounds more like he's struggling to come up with some reason to hire someone who they all know isn't actually the best candidate but they need to fill the spot with that particular demographic (any woman, a black woman, any minority woman, a young woman) for "diversity" reasons, because lots of managers are now evaluated on the diversity of their teams. So it's kind of like saying, "yeah, she isn't the best candidate, but let's just make something up so we can hire her and I can get my bonus." |
Sure, but that's more something that excludes people, just a box they need to check before skills and experience are considered, not a reason to hire them. -DP |
