Turkey Hill versus Breyer ice cream

I prefer turkey hill over breyers. But tillamook is better than both. And Ben and jerry's and hagaan daz are the best of the regular store brands.

They are all good imo it depends on the flavor. Both breyers and th have chocolate and peanut butter kinds but they are very different.

Wish Breyer’s would label their real ice creams “original recipe” or something. And actually go back to the old simple Breyer’s ingredients. Had the mint chip recently and, imho, it was not good; it did not have the texture of ice cream. It was more like frozen fluff. It was labeled ice cream though. And they have seriously shrunk the container and the amount you get.
I will try Turkey Hill and Tillamook.

Agree with other commenters that Turkey Hill Natural is in a different class than the regular Turkey Hill. The regular is fine, but the natural is really great.

Has anyone seen Turkey Hill Touchdown Sundae in the DMV area?

Brewers went way down hill. I don’t know the exact date. And I still get the vanilla for milkshakes. But the ingredients list is stupid now. When I was a kid it literally was milk cream sugar and vanilla beans. Period.

I just googled it. I’m right! I grew up In Philly and it was the best. Now:

Prior to 2006,[5] Breyers was known for producing ice cream with a small number of all-natural ingredients.

In recent years, as part of cost-cutting measures since their move from Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Unilever's U.S. headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey,[6] Unilever has reformulated many of its flavors with nontraditional, additive ingredients, significantly changing the taste and texture of their desserts as a result.[5] Following similar practices by several of their competitors, and to the consternation of many former customers,[5] Breyers' list of ingredients has expanded to include thickeners, low-cost sweeteners, food coloring and low-cost additives — including natural additives such as tara gum[7] and carob bean gum;[8] artificial additives such as maltodextrin and propylene glycol;[9] and common artificially separated and extracted ingredients such as corn syrup, whey, and others.[8][9] An ingredient list for Breyers Frozen Dairy Dessert may now include up to forty ingredients:

The natural still has only a few ingredients but the rest are awful.

This was really interesting; thanks for posting. Kind of gross that they include propylene glycol; that's Miralax!
