DH hasn't booked vasectomy

Did you guys fully agree on not having another child? Or did you just decide you don't want anymore and now DH has to get a vasectomy?

If you happen to get pregnant and want to get an abortion, is he okay with that? Why don't you get an IUD or an implant? If you use that and condoms, you are virtually guaranteed to not get pregnant. Even if you use condoms and spermicide, that's pretty good, too.

Oh my god. You have no idea what you are talking about. No one who knows anything recommends spermicide anymore. It weakens condos and causes vaginal irritation. When did you last use birth control, 2002?

She should not have to take these things that have side effects.

"No one who know anything"? What about planned parenthood....? https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control/spermicide

Man here. I had my sperm banked before I had it done.

Does your wife know? That would really piss me off.

Yes, we even use her HSA account to pay for the annual banking fee. Why would this piss you off?

For me, it's partly psychological in that I can still reproduce if I ever wanted to = the vasectomy wasn't the final end to my fertility; and for both of us, it's sort of unspoken that if one of our children were to pass away, this would allow us to have another.

How are you possibly having "carefree sex" when a vasectomy is not 100% effective?

How can you possibly drive a car when seatbelts are not 100% effective at saving lives in a car crash?

A lot of divorces happen post vasectomy

What?

It's true. Google it. More than 20% or more men regret getting one.

Tell him you are pregnant again. Watch the color drain from his face.

Then tell him you were joking, please get the snip ASAP

I don’t want him to do it if he doesn’t want to, but I think it’s unfair to continue putting the birth control burden on me. I don’t hate condoms but it’s not ideal. I’ll ask him what he wants to do.

How old is he? I don’t think it’s fair to ask someone to undergo permanent sterilization at a young age.
