Tips that worked for getting pregnant

Had sex Once a day a few days before, during and after my fertile window. Essentially had sex for 10 days straight. Just to be sure because I was just using an app to track my cycle and wasn’t doing any sort of ovulation testing or crazy charting. Husband was disappointed with our first because we were pregnant in one cycle lol! Wanted more 10 day stretches of sex hahaha Second time did the same thing and it took two cycles. It’s a myth that you should have sex every other day because men’s sperm count lowers if you have sex everyday. It’s just not true. I think you can miss your window if you do it every other day.

I wore stockings, which I hate to do. Turns my husband on a lot. Badda bing, badda baby.

Do it right before bedtime so you can lay down for an extended period afterwards.

Have sex every day with DH exactly 15 days from first day of my period. For 3 to 5 days during that time, put my legs up after sex against the wall, no peeping. Those were the days!

Sex every other day starting about 10 days after period. Pressed. Waiting an hour or more to pee after (while praying for no UTI.) Taking temperature every morning to confirm ovulation. I would read Taking Charge of Your Fertility if you really want to get into the weeds about it. Tracking my cycle helped me identify a minor fertility issue (low progesterone) by cycle 2 or 3. My doctor prescribed me supplements, and I got pregnant fairly quickly after that.

Pregnancy 1, 33: Read TCYOF and tracked temps for a few months + prenatals
1st Cycle: Relied on temps for fertile days, used the blinking smiley OPK (Clearblue Advanced, I believe), BDd on fertile days - not pregnant
2nd Cycle: Used Preseed, a supplement named "fertile CM," OPK, and BDd on every fertile day - pregnant

Pregnancy 2, 36: Brushed up on TCYOF + prenatals (did not track temps)
1st Cycle: Used preseed, Fertile CM, OPK, and BDd on every fertile day - pregnant (and frankly, shocked -- I expected it to take much longer since I was suddenly over the "magic" age of 35)

I'll add to the OPKs, paying up for the "good ones" (the smiley face) rather than the strips where you have to match colors.

Also agree with a lot of sex during the "blinking smiley" window and then again in the "solid smiley" window. Also did the whole keep legs raised, wait to pee thing.

Interestingly, I got pregnant in the same month that DH and I were beginning infertility testing. Not sure if knowing we were pursuing that next step that we hadn't want to come to terms with helped lower stress levels, etc., but it's hard to ignore the timing.

I used a clear blue easy fertility monitor to pinpoint when I was ovulating.

OP here. Thank you all for the great tips. I started tracking, changed my diet, and added prenatal/magnesium and calcium supplements. Appreciate the support.

Preseed, a lot of recommendations from it starts with the egg, acupuncture, and ovulation strips.

Had DC1 just before I turned 40 and DC2 few years later, after a fertility specialist told me I was not a good candidate for IVF.

I also had 2 miscarriages.

I consider myself very lucky.

This. I just got pregnant for the second time using the ovulation test in the first month of using it (the other months I called just for fun but had zero success - even tracking my cycle religiously turned out I ovulate earlier in my cycle than most so we always missed the window)

You might need to get a lesson on the basics OP.

You guys are mean.

They had sex, OP. That’s what they mean by deposits.

Eat green eggs and ham every morning- mashed avocado, hard boiled egg and cooked bacon. Voila!

Add in exercise, plenty of water, no caffeine, no alcohol, optimal sleep for you (for some that is 6, others 8.5), and relaxation (yoga, meditation, massage).

Tracked my cycle (temperature and the strips), sex 1-2 times a day during the window, pre-seed,
and legs up against the wall afterwards.
