Feeling Insecure about First Time Expecting at 36

Hah, when I was angsting about this (exact same age as you when had first), my therapist said something like "the average age of women delivering at Sibley is 38, chill."

I think 38 is old. Imagine being 40 and running around with a newborn. You're going to be tired all the time.

If you're 40 and tire out that easily you need to speak to your doctor.

Well, I am nearly 42 with a newborn and less tired now than I was with a newborn at 37. People’s experiences are different. Babies are different.

you’re not going to have a newborn at 40 if the kid was born at 38. Not everyone is a tired mess in their 40’s btw.

I would love to have a 4th. I am 41. I feel like I have more energy now than I did at 30 with my first. In much better shape, eating healthier.

Many women do it all the time with no issues. You sound weak or easily fatigued.

I think it is fine, but look at it in the long run, if your kid will have a kid at 38, you'll be in your mid 70s, and you might not be able to help them. I think 40 is old personally. I think the women who are 40 are just saying that they aren't tired to feel better.

Then don't have a kid at 40, but when other people say they don't feel any more tired at 40 than they did at 30, you can't make up stuff like "you're just saying that to feel better" because you don't have any personal experience in the matter. Some people take better care of themselves and have tons of energy at 40 and older.

I remember being 25 and seeing a woman in her mid to late 40s or 50s in the waiting room. So as others said you definitely aren't the oldest!
