As usual, Asian parents will find a way to make their children succeed academically. It does not matter if FCPS dumbs down the curriculum or gives seats to low performing Whites (and 1-2 token Hispanic and Black students) - eventually, no one can win against the sheer amount of hard work and grit of Asian-American students. Bring it on. You are only hurting middle class students (mainly White).

Take a look at Democrat run Baltimore Schools. Twelve high schools don't have (1) student that can do math at grade level. The Democrats don't care. They are failing black families in Baltimore.

Your kid will have no problem getting into college. You just have to accept that there are good colleges that are not Ivies. Stop being focused on getting into the glory school and look for schools that actually fit your child. Believe it or not, there are millions of successful people who attended small liberal arts colleges and small engineering colleges and schools not named MIT, Yale, Princeton, and Cal Tech.

Just like there are kids who attend base high schools in FCPS who attend many well known colleges.

The issue is that too many people, regardless of race, are so focused on the prestige schools as being then end all and be all that they lose perspective.

Whites are more than welcome to compete if they choose to do so. If anyone, whites/blacks/hispanics/blue student and parents, put out the same effort as Asians, they would surely be able to compete.

If the true purpose of TJ is to provide a strong STEM focused education, then the school should be lottery based. I’m not sure it should be based on a test or high gpa. All kids should have the same opportunities to go there. The 3.5 GPA cutoff seems like a good cutoff for lottery kids.

It will most likely no longer continue to be a top 10 high school, but that is ok.

This is their mission statement. It does not mention being #1.
