Data doesn’t support why not? Who says? |
| I'd be all for closing down indoor restaurant dining, and indoor entertainment options, and opening schools instead. All this is going to do is push back any in person school til Fall 2021. Don't know what Hogan is smoking. |
Blindsided, yeah right. Aren’t they paying attention? |
| Schools are really dead last, huh. Back to work, everyone, save the economy! Kids? What are those? |
Paying attention to what? How could they have known about phase 3 unless told? |
"we" the state. So Maryland is giving permission to the counties I guess. =op |
They could be open today if the teachers have some degree of courage |
Amen. He wants to keep the economy afloat? How about school so working parents can keep their jobs. |
There’s nothing stopping schools from opening other then the teachers |
| Wondering what this means for indoor rec programs? I want to re-enroll DC in swim lessons but the options are pretty limited right now. |
+1. He seems to think that by giving them the green light, that problem is solved. He’s definitely smoking something if he thinks he has a prayer of getting the nomination in 2024. |
Marc Elrich is that you? |
Dp, but you clearly don’t have a good grasp on the science, which actually explains a lot. |
The science is on MY side, not yours. The virus can live up to four days on paper on cardboard surfaces. So when you cough and get your germs on a box of cereal at Safeway on Thursday, and that box of cereal is delivered to me on Saturday, I could get infected. You are sociopathic. The science was on your side in March but that was when everyone was guessing. Read some of the more recent publications and use some logic. If surface contact was a major or even somewhat prevalent mode of transmission, we'd have all had it by Memorial Day. If an infected person coughs on your cereal box on Thursday and you immediately lick the box in the store, you'll probably get sick. If you avoid licking cereal boxes, you'll probably be fine. Or just stay home. Doesn't really matter to me. What's more worrisome are the movie theaters and other gatherings. Do all of them really have enough ventilation to prevent spread through aerosols? |

And a nice 800-case day to carry us into Phase III. I could justify this if we were at 200-300 cases a day for a month+ but I don't see the rush to blanket re-open like this. NY and NJ earned their re-openings. Have we?
or hell even wait until the 18th to verify the post-holiday is like Memorial Day instead of the Fourth of July. |
