Hogan Conference 9/1

We are going to stage three on Friday. Movie theaters and live entertainment will be able to resume at a reduced capacity. Maryland and DC will also use iPhone technology for contact tracing. School systems must put together a plan to open in person learning.

Hogan trying very hard to make sure Maryland sees another massive outbreak, just prior to Election Day.

Shocking, huh?

Hopefully Elrich will tell him to shove it, and keep MoCo where we are, or maybe even roll the county back to Phase 1. Because that’s what responsible, adult leadership would do.

The health care community tried to tell Hogan that it's too early for movie theaters.

I guess he didn't care.

Why because of the super low numbers? Stay in your basement. It’s time to re-open. Schools included.

Why would we do that? MoCo is doing pretty good. We DO need to keep our economy afloat. I know the safest thing to do is for everyone to stay at home, but it's not realistic and it's not fair to the working class. There has to be a compromise.

Having everyone get sick and die won’t hurt the economy though, right? Nah. MAGA, right?

Everyone? You mean like, .005%

I agree with him.

Please respect other peoples' choices.

You don't have to go to a movie theater or restaurant or anything - say in your basement and do take out forever and instacart, get your mail-in ballot in on time and then go march on the mall/

It is pathetic that people place such a low value on education.

The data says DC is set to reopen schools. If there is another concrete fact based reason why Bowser won't forgo her self promotion and put in the time and effort to get schools open = I am all ears.

Respect other stupid people’s choices to go to places, get infected, and then possibly kill me?

No. Respect. For. Them.

Just straight up hatred and contempt.

The brutal reality is that the virus disproportionately hits the elderly and sick. It might actually be a boost to the economy to get some of those people off Social Security and Medicare.

Or, you know, we could use more rational criteria to make reopening decisions.

As stated time and time again, you are free to stay home. Perhaps you are a smoker or have pulmonary issues or other health constraints and you are worried about death. Understood. Please do visit your doctor and see what risks you can manage. In the meantime, there are millions and millions and millions who will get Covid (up to 60% may not even know it!) and would like to live.
I hear your hatred and contempt and encourage you to - Stay. At. Home.

Staying at home doesn’t protect me from the consequences of your bad, selfish, reckless decisions. I could easily be infected by someone through the mail, a delivery, or people interacting with people I must interact with.

How can you not understand this?

I’m sure MoCo will not allow live entertainment or movie theaters to open.

Elrich better not. Not if he wants to have a prayer of getting re-elected
